The same day that I moved the bulletin board (see yesterday’s post) I took down the little shelf where I displayed my mini pottery. It was too crowded, everything was jammed together. So I moved my little collection to this shelf in our bedroom, which had previously displayed egg cups.
Every piece has a little breathing room now.
And the wall where the bulletin board hangs is much less crowded. The visual clutter had been starting to get on my nerves! I don’t spend much time up in the office at the moment, but that will change once it gets colder. I’ll get back to my rescued dollhouse, which has been patiently waiting for me since Spring arrived.
Next Saturday, I plan to drive to the Hartford area and attend the annual miniature show put on by the IGMA (International Guild of Miniature Artisans.) I’ve found some great pieces there in the past. I’m on a budget this year, so I can only buy a few modestly priced items, but the main objective is to go and be inspired. It’s also the only show relatively close to my home. There’s a huge show every year in Philadelphia, but I believe it’s in November, and I never seem to be able to get there for whatever reason.
This is a more modestly sized show which suits me fine.
Hold onto your hats…this is grocery shopping day! Whoo hoo!
That’s all the excitement on our plate today.
Don had a pretty good day at the Farmers Market, though it was hot out there and yellow jackets kept flying around all the produce, annoying everyone.
Happy Monday.

Looking forward to hearing about the IGMA show. I attended the local club’s show and sale yesterday. Between people downsizing their stash and several estates, there were lots of bargains to be had. (Great way to furnish a first dollhouse.) I was slightly starstruck to meet Janet Harvie whose work I admire every much. The only thing I didn’t like was a woman who kept elbowing her way to the tables to take photos without asking permission. Not cool.

I love Janet Harvie’s work! How lucky to meet her!

The mini pottery looks lovely. Breathing room sets it off nicely. There’s always the dilemma when one’s collection outgrows it’s space….do you stop collecting, or move it. You chose wisely! ;)

It took a while, but I finally faced facts and moved it. Thanks, Donnamae.

Can’t wait to see your photos from the miniature show!!

…love the mini pottery – – it’s delightful (always nice to corral a collection, too)…
Claudia says
Thank you, Vicki.

I’ll do my best to get some good ones!

Ah, time for me to declutter too. My desk looks like the normal curve, stacking up things I dumped there when tidying up other spots. It shouldn’t take long — just a matter of getting to it! And I may well do that as soon as I click send on this one!
The pottery looks very nice there. You’e been productive!
Claudia says
I have to be in the mood to declutter! But when I finally am, I’m ruthless. Thanks, Jeanie.

No excitement here either. Mowed the front lawn and trimmed a little. The theater lost another talent. Sorry to hear of the passing of Phyllis Newman. May she rest in peace.

I was saddened to hear of her passing. I met her years ago at a charity performance of Finian’s Rainbow that Don was in – put on by the Irish Rep. She and Lauren Bacall were sitting together and I got to meet them both. A true honor. (That’s the time that Bacall raved about my husband’s performance!) Both women were friendly and kind.

It’s been a long time since you posted Don and some of his pictures. Perhaps he and some of his subjects will let you share one or two sometime in the near future!
Claudia says
He isn’t taking pictures of his pictures lately. He just gives the photo to the subject. So I have none to post.
