When Vintage by Crystal has a blog sale, it starts at a certain time and you have to scan all the items quickly and then email them with your choices. Really quickly. I’ve lost out on a few favorites because my email didn’t get there fast enough and it can be frustrating!
During the last sale, which was for Valentine’s Day, I sent an email with my first two choices, both of which I lost out on. My favorite was a spun cotton little girl whose face and hair reminded me of photos of my mother when she was a wee girl. When I heard I had just missed getting her, I was so sad. I ended up ordering something else, but in the course of our back and forth, I mentioned why I had wanted that little girl so much.
Then I got sick. It wasn’t until about two weeks later that I discovered an email that Crystal sent in response to mine. Somehow I’d missed it. Anyway, she said she had another copy of the face and that she would be happy to make one for me. I was so afraid that I’d lost out because I hadn’t seen the email, but it turned out that I hadn’t.
She arrived yesterday.
Isn’t she beautiful? My wee mom as a magical girl carrying a big pansy flower.
I love all my Vintage by Crystal pieces but this just might be my favorite. She’s currently sitting on the table to my left, right next to my blogging chair. Eventually, she’ll go upstairs to my pink cabinet, where other Vintage by Crystal pieces live, right along with some of my Roseville pottery.
Crystal is a lovely person and I was so touched that she would offer to make this for me.
I am in awe of Crystal’s whimsical imagination, the incredible variety of pieces that she makes – all this while raising two young children with her husband and partner in the business.
We had a little snow overnight but not much. The sun just came out.
Tomorrow night? That’s another story. We might get anywhere from 3 – 7 inches. And more later in the week. March is starting off with a bang.
Thanks for sharing your current reading matter with me. I hope that you got some ideas from other comments. I sure did.
Happy Saturday.
very sweet art … and very nice of crystal to make her for you! glad you now have it!
hope any snow you get is on the low side.
haven’t done much reading lately, but did/do add to my “tbr” list, thanks to the commenters and your frequent book posts. thanks to you for asking questions … it’s nice reading all the answers and in a way getting to know more the people in the “mhc” community that you’ve created. :) thanks for that, too.
hope everyone has a great weekend!

I love the community here, Kathy.
So sweet of Crystal to make that flower girl for you. I love things like this that evoke memories. I did finish the Sally Fields book last night (yay me). So will start something new soon. Going to see the Grands today. I got Tiger a Magic 8 Ball that he REALLY wanted so I need to stop and pick up something for little miss scout, she is easy to find a little something for. I hope the snow isn’t as bad as predicted. We are having a touch of sun today so I’m soaking it up as more cloudy days ahead for sure.
Have fun with the grands, Linda!
You are indeed a shopper
Actually, I’m not. I really dislike shopping. But I do like finding special things that touch my heart.
Crystal sounds like a sweetheart. Just goes to prove that it’s possible to meet the nicest people online. As for online shopping, I’d be happy to never have to shop any other way!
Me too. Except for vintage/antique shopping. That I love to do.
She’s enchanting!
Good luck with the snow.
They’re downgrading the amount – more likely 3-4 inches. Yay!
She’s lovely! That was so sweet of Crystal to make her for you.
We got a couple inches of snow too…that should be the end of it for a spell. But, we are getting thrown in the deep freeze again. Hope you get less than predicted…a lot less. Enjoy your day! ;)
Cold here, too. I’m really ready for spring!
Your mom must have been a beautiful woman..
She was, Mary. Thank you.
Claudia, you need a sweet boy with your Dad’s face now, cradling a puppy or a frog!
In his case it would probably be a puppy or a kitty!
Awwww!
xo
That little girl is beautiful. Glad you were to get another one. We received about an inch and a half of snow. Most of it has melted already.

More on the way, Marilyn!
I would say you Mom must have been a little cutie pie if she looked like that sweet figure by Crystal…
She was, Nancy!
