Dear friends, I am taking a mental health day today.
The Nazi Rally at Madison Square Garden was abhorrent, vile, deplorable and beneath contempt.
I have been right every time I blocked a Trump supporter from this blog, and elsewhere on social media. There is no reasoning with them. They are lost.
So, I’m going to mail some packages, take the porch plants back outside, vacuum, and VOTE.
I know many of you have aready voted. If you haven’t, please make sure you do.
Love,
kathy in iowa says
peace, peace, peace to you, don and everyone else …
stay safe.

Sounds like the perfect antidote to the disgusting things hat were said yesterday at msg. Go vote! We will be doing that on Wednesday.
Enjoy your mental health day! ;)

Good morning Claudia. You are correct. Vile is the perfect word. And you are correct with a mental health day. I’ll be doing chores with you and thinking of the nice people reading your blog. A safe place is welcome. Thank you.
Betsy Rogers says
Hi Claudia, I am with you one hundred percent. I already voted. The anxiety is excruciating and has no place in a democracy. I’m just trying to stay sane. Be well.
Helga says
Hi, Claudia!
How I wished🙏 I could, but I live in another country (unfortunately in this case).
We have a NaziFascism-problem too on this side of the pond, I go and vote next year!
Hope the best.
Helga

HILLARY WAS RIGHT!

Sending love from across the ocean and hoping that the election in the US results is Kamala Harris becoming President
I can imagine that these are frightening times – I cannot comprehend another Trump term

I will never understand anyone’s support for that totally despicable excuse for a human being. We voted last week and I can only hope it makes a difference. It is impossibly sad that nearly half of this great country has lost its way because of this loser.
Emily says
I live in a “blue” part of North Carolina, and the long lines for early voting have been like nothing I have seen before. So I have to remain hopeful. Michelle Obama’s speech in Michigan Saturday was amazing!
Linda MacKean says
I need some positive energy as do you and Don. Rest and revive your spirit. And yes my absentee ballot is going in the mail today.
Lynda says
It was disgusting and uncalled for. I turned in my ballot last week. It’s going to be a stressful time until the election is over. And maybe beyond. Take care.
Elaine in Toronto says
My feelings, exactly, Claudia. It was difficult to listen to the rhetoric . There are no words to describe what a hateful, evil man he is. Praying Kamala will win the election. Enjoy your day off. Hugs, Elaine

I voted before I left. I couldn’t watch the rally, just heard about it and that was more than enough. It just gets worse and worse.
linda in ky says
dear Claudia/Don — beyond horrible — only thing missing at rally : bed sheets w/pointed hats
Barrie says
Totally agree with you, Claudia! We need decency….not all that other stuff! Voting has never been so important! I voted already!
Kay Nickel says
Thanks for the photo. I am tuning out as much as I can about politics. Yep already voted. I will be happy when it is over.

I have had this statement on a little piece of paper for years, it has always rang true to me:
Thoughts become words
words become actions
actions become character
and character is everything.
Take Care,
Kaye

Claudia, hope that whatever you do today, you will relax and enjoy the positive and peaceful aspects of your life. I voted early and hopefully.

We’re hoping for Nevada blue here. I’m wearing my blue wave cat lady tee today on my errands. Planning on carving my jack o’lantern early because Kamala is here on Halloween! Also making another donation and will be GOTV as we come down to the wire.
I’m currently reading “The Truths We Hold” and it makes my support all the stronger.
Deep breaths, in and out, my friends.

I haven’t voted yet. I will wait for Election Day. I’m due a new granddaughter the day before Election Day. It’s crazy to think She will learn all about these times in the history books!
Didn’t watch the trump rally either. I’ve heard mixed reviews in this part of the country but most love his rally’s. I just smile when both sides are railing on and on. I can’t be that invested or I will be distracted and miss something beautiful that happening around me. My way of looking at it all.
I’m wishing everyone could be happy with the results but obviously that’s just not possible.
Enjoy your blog. Stay calm and soldier on!
Claudia says
Well, it is possible to feel passionately about preserving our democracy at the same time as you notice beautiful things happening around you. I live that every day and the evidence is on this blog. To me, there is no ‘both sides’ in this election. It’s fascism or democracy.I’m going to honor my dad’s service in WWII and choose democracy. He was ready to sacrifice his life for it.
I bet you’re looking forward to seeing your new grandchild.
Stay safe.
Darlene says
You do that beautifully ! Thank you for caring about our country! We need more of you and less of the crazies I’m referring too.
Claudia says
Thank you so much for your kind words, Darlene. Hang in there!
