Monday Morning Thoughts & Photos

June 28, 2010 at 1:09 pm by Claudia

:: The fix-it crew worked long into the night and the sinkhole is covered. Today they are back out there doing whatever it is they have to do to finish the job off. We had water around 8:00 pm and I finally took a shower around 9:00. Oh, that felt good!

:: Does it ever seem to you that Fifi is photographing everyone’s house but yours? Come on, be honest! It seems as if every time I go visit a blog lately, Fifi is on the way to photograph the blogger’s house or has just left. It started with my good friend, Elyse, then Lizzie, then my sort-of neighbor, Sandy and now she is traveling through the midwest. In all seriousness, congratulations, fellow bloggers!

Truth be told, I don’t think my house is ready for any sort of professional photography. But it is cute. And charming enough to make me happy. At least for the moment. I know myself; I will want to change things as soon as I get home. When I’m away for a long period of time, I come back and see the cottage with a much more critical eye.

:: More photos from Christie and Rita’s sale:

Inside Christie’s shop

Some of Christie’s gorgeous painted flowers that completely transform this piece of furniture.

For some reason, I never got a photo of Christie. There were lots of people there and she was very, very busy.

:: King Lear opened on Saturday. One down, two more to go. And I have only 6 more days until I am winging my way home.

Have a wonderful Monday.

What a dreamy birdhouse – I think you should make one for your dollhouse – which BTW I hope we are going to see more of when you get home! ;)

Beautiful photos Claudia of beautiful things.
My house isn’t on Fifi’s list but I was asked by a contributing Romantic Home writer if I would be interested. Um, not sure. Looks like lots of work.

Glad you get to go home soon. I just know you are anxiously awaiting the day.

I don’t know who Fifi is but I’ll have to do some digging around now that you have my curiosity nudged a bit. So nice that you’ll be home soon!!! Yea!!! It’s been hot here, and HUMID – bad hair days for me!! Ciao, bella!

Six more days– yes!! I’m looking forward to hearing about your “return nesting” at MHC. Your home is so wonderful, I’m amazed that Fifi hasn’t visited. (Maybe because she knows you’re out of town, right?!

You’re almost home Dear Claudia! How happy you must be, and I’m thrilled for you. There is nothing in my apartment that would appeal to a magazine, unless it’s packed moving boxes and decluttering projects. LOL I adore the painted flowers by Christie! Beautiful work.

    LOL, you are hilarious!

Seriously, I’m not jealous of the other bloggers getting their houses photographed, I just wish Miss Fifi would wise up and hire me as an assistant photog. Hey, it could happen. ;-)

    XO,
    Anne

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
