It’s been a busy couple of days. And now I’ve come down with a cold. I’m not a happy camper. Here are some shots of buildings around the city – just a milli-smidgeon of the wealth of wonderful architecture in Manhattan.
Some of the detail on the Woolworth Building – one of my favorite buildings in the city. Try as I mght, I can’t get a good shot of the whole building, with its gorgeous green roof.
City Hall – the municipal buildings, including police headquarters, the courts, etc. are all in my neighborhood.
I’ve walked through Union Square countless times, but this is the first time I noticed the statue of Gandhi – in a little garden.
Oh, and look who I ran into yesterday:
Don had an audition and we got to see each other for all of 30 minutes. I wish it had been longer. I’m a wee bit homesick. 2 more days.
I’m off to continue the search for shoes or boots to wear on opening night. I want something I can wear again, on sale, black and in my size. Is that asking too much? Apparently it is.

Love the photographs of beautiful buildings! How strange that something as simple as black shoes or boots cannot be found in NYC. Take care and feel better soon.

Claudia, I picked the perfect day to catch up with blogs. My week has been uber-hectic and it’s nice to sit down and look at some beauty. I love that statue of Ghandi, how special to come upon it as you did. Best of luck finding dress, shoes, etc for opening night and I hope the play is a splendid success. Get better – take your zinc for that cold! Ann

Claudia,
I’m sorry you got a cold. I heard that cupcakes help….Good luck with the shoes. When I think of the 4 inch heels I used to wear into the city and walk in them – I shudder. Enjoying your photos.

Just look at all those shade of blue. What a wonderful time you are having. I can’t believe you are having a hard time finding a pair to wear. One would think in NYC. Glad to see you had a few fleeting moments with Don.
Enjoy your big weekend,
Kate

Sorry to read you are sick, can you get some echinaeca or zinc? This may help to shorten the symptoms.
I am floored with the building and the architect, truly a work of art. The patina on the roofs and trims of some of the building are awesome. So many years it took to get that per shade and all natural created by the weather.
OH, so glad you all could steal a moment together and hope you can get home soon.
Thank you again for the tour, its the next best thing to being there.
Happy safe travels.

So happy you got to see Don! So sad that it was for only 30 minutes~ such a bummer. I bet it was comforting to see him, especially when you don’t feel well. I hope you feel well really soon.
Those buildings in NY are so beautiful. They just don’t seem to build them like that anymore. I guess that even if they did, it still wouldn’t have the same feeling of history, would it?
Oh~ good luck with the shoe shopping! I’ll be sending you good shoe karma from out west!
Hugs,
Jill

I love seeing these beautiful buildings! Amazing! They remind me of D.C. I love going to see the architecture there as well. In fact, I believe the same Gandhi statue is there near DuPont Circle.
Good luck with the footwear.

Please, Claudia, take care of that cold! As for the shoes, I hope you find what you’re looking for. I agree with the commenter above that it could have been that long walk across the bridge. Dress warmly, will you! Especially now that you have a cold. So happy that you were able to spend a little bit of time with your wonderful husband. If it’s a chest cold that you have and you feel pain in your bones and a bit feverish, take Tylenol extra strength every four hours. It will take away the weak, overall feeling. Good luck at the opening!
