More Photos on the Line & a Chalkboard

November 23, 2009 at 8:08 am by Claudia

Thank you, thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes! You are such wonderful, generous friends! I read them all with a full heart. I had a lovely day – actually, a perfect day. My husband and I spent the afternoon exploring part of a nearby town. We had some lunch and walked on our local rail trail. Later, my husband surprised me with a wonderful dinner at a local tearoom/restaurant. It was scrumptious! I don’t often go on and on about a meal while I’m in the midst of eating…but the food was wonderfully good. Don did a great job of surprising me (he is very good at that.) I came home to presents and pie – sent by FedEx overnight from Julian, California. Yum! Tomorrow I will post about my presents – all vintage.

Last week I added another ‘necklace’ of photos to my design board. I won’t bore you with details on every photo, but the young handsome guy in the middle is my Dad as a teenager. You’ll notice he is hanging directly below the photo of my Mom as a teen.

Do you remember the chalkboard tutorial? My first attempt at the actual chalkboard was on plywood that was less than smooth and I ended up using another piece of wood. I didn’t want to toss the first attempt, so I drilled two holes at the top of the chalkboard, knotted some twine and fashioned a hanger. I think it looks perfect hanging in my little studio area and if I use a wet towel, it erases just fine. What do you think?

I’ve written a favorite quote on it for the time being, but I’m sure I will be writing lists of things to do soon enough.

Have a wonderful Monday.

    Oh Claudia..
    Good Morning Sweetie.
I am so glad you had a beautiful day and that Hubby had so many nice surprises for you. It is nice to be spoiled once and awhile you know. Dinner sounds wonderful, can’t wait to see the photos.

Now I have to tell you, I love that chalkboard. It is so cute. I especially love your quote. I have never heard it before, but I have it written down so not to forget (everything goes in the planner.)

Thanks for sharing this morning. I so love to come and visit. I love your little basket with the yarn and the Bingo card. So refreshing.

Have a beautiful day Ms Claudia. Country hugs sweetie…Sherry

I decorated some clothespins for a photo line, now I just have to get pics developed…..I’m hoping to ‘steal’ some from my folks over thanksgiving (scan them and return later). I like that chalkboard too…if I’m not careful, I’ll have them all over my house!

Oh, feel free to link your post to my ‘make it for Monday’ party if ya want. I’m doing it weekly now, to motivate myself more than anything :)

What a deliciously sweet idea, honey! I’m going to do that on my faux mantle with pix of some ancestors. Of course, they look like horse thieves, but hey, what’s a little humor in the family, right, chick?! ;-)

I’m so glad you had a terrific Birthday! Your little chalkboard looks good, to get most chalkboards to look clean, you have to wipe them down with a damp rag anyway so there is no great loss there. Your pictures looks so neat hanging like that too.
Claudia I still need you to chose which Christmas movie you’d like, White Christmas, It’s a Wonderful Life or Miracle On 34th Street. Could you let me know as soon as you get a moment. My email is loveleightreasures@gmail.com and leave me your info so I can get it sent out to you! Thanks so much and have a super day!

Oh, yes and I forgot to tell you how much I enjoyed seeing the photo of you dad. Very handsome.

PS~The San Francisco Chronicle had a full page article about Nevada City, CA. Very fun and interesting and good for tourist to get up during the Holidays to help the economy in the sweet Gold Country. Not sure how I can get it to you but will try to be tricky! I will keep you posted.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
