My “New” Kitchen Island

October 3, 2008 at 5:53 pm by Claudia

Well, its done! We love it!!!! Perhaps we’ll find a neat marble top for it someday, but for now we are quite happy with our new addition to the kitchen. This photo has a strange angle to it because I was sitting on the counter trying to get a full view of the island.

Here are some other views, some showing the detail that this cabinet has – detail that I think is enhanced by the paint job. It really got lost in its former dark, dark version.

I love the way the beadboard turned out – very cozy cottage, I think. I’ve already rearranged my cupboards and am so grateful for more storage space. Hope you like it.

Have a great weekend!

Found you on the comment page of Cindy/romantic home.

Your new island is fantastic, love all the details to it! The glass knobs that are on the new island would also look great on your existing cabinets, tieing the look in even more. Great job!

I am in love with your kitchen island… your porch… your home… and your doggums!! Living in New England, I’m also feeling atumn arriving in full force. And not being a cold weather person, I’m having a hard time letting go of summer. If I could learn to do that, I would probably enjoy the fall more… Again – GREAT kitchen island!!!…Donna

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
