It’s frigid out there. Even though the winds are not as intense, I can hear the constant ringing of the wind chimes as I write this. We will see a warming trend starting tomorrow, with rain in the forecast mid-week. And the snow will disappear.
But last night was clear and I was stationed at the kitchen door taking photos of the beautiful sunset and the moon. I’d open the door, grab a quick shot, and then quickly close it. I’m pretty pleased with the results.
The crescent moon and the sunset.
Mysterious and wondrous night sky.

the moon and your photos are beautiful.
my parents, brother, sister and i all have interest in night-sky events and gone out on many nighttime drives into the countryside away from city lights to better see planets, meteors, etc. and (most often) the moon. :)
enjoy the warm-up and the weekend. stay safe.

It’s fun, isn’t it? Luckily, we live in the country, so we can see a lot of those things!

Hi Claudia! Lovely pictures!
I was busy taking “the same” pictures at my house a little ways Northeast from you! I love crescent moons and winter sunsets are special in their own way… the day being so short and night so dominant. And your Queens series is lovely… we should all get to feel “Queenly” once in a while! Stay warm!
Claudia says
Wasn’t it amazing last night?
Thanks so much, Betsy.

Photos of the night sky that makes one wonder.
And a very Royal Olivia who looks like she owns it!
We had a tsunami warning a couple of days ago. It created some agitation and people started fleeing our city to get to higher ground. One of the routes out of our city became clogged. I stayed put, and 10 minutes or so later, the warning was cancelled. I guess it was exciting and scary for a little while.
Claudia says
I heard from someone in CA right after that tsunami warning. It must have been a bit scary! Glad you were safe, Wendy.
Did you feel the earthquake?

Dee Dee says
Great photos, Claudia. I especially like the last one. Currently being battered by Storm Darragh but folk who live on the coast are having it much worse.
Happy Saturday
Claudia says
I heard about that storm! It sounds dreadful, Dee Dee.
Stay safe.

Saw the first photo on IG yesterday. So beautiful. I believe warmer weather will be coming your way since it got up to 48 here yesterday. Of course, that means our neighbor is out doing chores in shorts, LOL. The good thing about having these frigid temps so early is, after that, every spike above freezing feels like spring!!
Take care,
Kay
Claudia says
Yes, indeed. It will be warmer here today with rain coming in the afternoon.
Stay safe, Kay.
