Obsession Scarf #2

December 5, 2010 at 3:00 pm by Claudia

I’ve put Letitia to work again. Too much idle time up there in the studio makes for a dull girl. After some prodding, she agreed to model Obsession Scarf #2 – as only she can, with her enviably slim waist.

I have to give credit to my sister, Meredith, for coining the word obsessed when talking of this scarf. I stole it from her. I am a good big sister, though, and give credit where credit is due. We share this obsession – I think she’s made 6 so far.  I’m a little behind but I’m about to start on #3 and I plan on closing the gap.

My afghan is suffering from neglect. It sits right next to my chair in the den, taunting me. Soon, afghan, soon.

Some of you have left comments saying you would love one of these scarves. If you are interested in having me crochet one for you, shoot me an email. We’ll talk.

Have a great Sunday!

Oh, How I love #2. Great color combo. After the Holidays, I’ll give you a shout. My knitting is going ok but, I maybe resorting to crochet. We will see. Not used to the bamboo needles I think. :) Back to dreeded cleaning. Hugs, Liz

Ooooh Claudia, it is a beaut!!! Leticia makes the perfect model, doesn’t she? I’m sure that the afghan will wait for you while you make the scarves, but I can hardly wait to see it finished too! I have a scarf obsession myself.(they cover the turkey neck so well)lol!
Your pictures of the yarn shop were AMAZING! I love the way they display things in there. What a wonderful place to shop. So glad you took us to see it.

I loved the beautiful rainbow at your house. The pot of gold was your dear cottage.
    hugs to you.

Claudia, what would like be without our obsessions? Lovely, lovely scarf and I understand you and your sister’s fixation with it. It would also make a lovely casual belt – Letitia’s waist inspired me – certainly not mine! Ann

That Letitia just keeps getting lovelier and perhaps skinner by the day. I envy that waist!

Obsessed is correct. I am on number 7 but had to slow down a bit due to my trip this weekend. However, I bought yarn for several more. I am doing the pattern a little different, I think I read it wrong, but if you doit wrong every time it turns out just fine.
    Love you,

Hi Claudia! Your scarf came out beautiful! I love your model too! One way or another, I would love to have my OWN Letitia!.. BUT, this is not the time of year to be thinking about my own wants; so someday, at LEAST after the new year begins, I’ll give that some more thought! (0; Loved reading about the White Barn and got a kick out of her little tree with balls of yarn for ornaments! I may have to make a tree like that for around here! (You can never have too many Christmas trees, can you?) ~tina

These are so great. I can fully understand the obsession. Did you post a pattern for these? Did I miss that amidst my Xmas crafting madness?
Do you need someone to take one off your hands?
Do mind me asking so many questions?
Have a great week and have fun with number 3 and 4 and…

Wow, Claudia! I love the colors in your scarf! It looks so complicated! And that Yarn barn in the last post is amazing, from the green door to the twisted skeins of saltwater-taffy-colored yarn draped over the racks. Dp you think they get a lot of people who come in and just stare because everything looks so beautiful?

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
