Off to the Shops Again

November 27, 2022 at 8:59 am by Claudia

Forgot to post this photo of the girls. It was my Thanksgiving post on my IG Blythe account.

Gosh darn it, they’re cute.

Today is the dreaded shopping day, but I say that lightly, as I’m determined to have a positive attitude. I told Don I can handle it on my own and I’ve decided the first stop will be Kohl’s, which someone suggested yesterday. It’s much closer to my home than the mall is, so my ideal scenario would be finding just the right pair of pants there. But if not, I’ll drive to the mall.

Deep breath!

I’m going to make this short so I can grab some breakfast and get ready to go. I’d like to finish all of this early in the day…fingers crossed.

We’re seriously thinking of getting our tree tomorrow. A bit earlier than usual, but remember that last year our local supplier was sold out by the time I came back home from Brooklyn. We need some sparkle and pretty lights. If we get it tomorrow, then we can decorate on the 30th or December 1st.

Push-pull as to the premiere. Very excited to see everyone and see the film but, as an introvert, can’t wait for it to be over. Mostly, I’m so happy for Jim and Ben and all of the producers, the director, and the cast and crew.

Stay safe.

Happy Sunday.

best wishes and prayers that you find just what you want at the first store you go to today and can then relax about it all.

i get a push-pull feeling about some things, too … then usually have a great time and conk out almost immediately upon getting home. i think you’ll have a great time tuesday!

getting a Christmas tree early sounds lovely, fun.

the girls look sweet. love their outfits and that they’re all wearing striped socks/tights. think my favorite outfit in today’s photo is the yellow dress worn by … sophie??? (sorry … trying to memorize their names, but don’t have that done yet). all cute though!

couple more days of mild weather here, then to get much, much colder. am hoping to get my car washed and cleaned inside before the temperatures drop. also need to find a new winter coat, but finding that difficult … almost everything i’ve seen has down filling and is black (chic … but i’m so far from being chic … and i don’t care about that at all). what i want is a super-warm red or navy coat with an attached hood and no down for filling. is that too much to ask for?!? claudia, i feel your shopping pain!

hope you, don and everyone else have a very good, easy day today. and always stay safe.

Shopping is a pain in the tush, Kathy!

That’s Madeleine. Sophie is my very first doll, with the long blonde hair.

      Stay safe!

Good luck with the shopping. I find Kohl’s works for me pretty often when I need something specific. Love your sweet girls and the photos always make me smile. I can’t wait to hear about the premier. Hugs!

      Kohl’s was extremely disappointing, unfortunately!

      Thanks Linda.

      Stay safe.

Gosh darn, the girls sure are cute! Hope your shopping trip went well. Love that you’re getting our tree early. My philosophy is that our tree is better off in our backyard waiting to come in and be decorated than on the tree lot being thumped by all and sundry to see if any needles fall off. Our house is not quite ready to welcome a tree just yet but hopefully soon. Hugs, Elaine

Sending good wishes for finding the perfect, or close to it, pair of pants! And getting the tree early is smart… it’ll be nice to have the tree up and decorated to have more time to enjoy it…
The girls look great in the warm, comfy clothes… very fall/autumn!

    Good luck today!

I feel your pain about the shopping trip – I had an event to go to several weeks ago, and while I haven’t gained weight, it was still impossible to find plain old black pants. Why? I wish you good luck! (I ended up wearing my old reliable gray pants and a jacket – nothing new).

I found that the pants all started at the hip and were way too long. The hip thing doesn’t work at this point in my life.

      Thanks, my friend.

      Stay safe.

Ah, yes, shopping dread. On the other hand you are an ace shopper when filling in the girls’ wardrobe so maybe that luck will transfer. Love the checked dress with the red plaid apron!

The luck didn’t transfer so I’m using a dress I’ve had for over 15 years.

      Stay safe, Ceci.

It saps every bit of energy I have.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
