On My Way Through the Park

June 14, 2010 at 1:48 am by Claudia

Thank you for your lovely, supportive comments on the last post. Reading them and knowing you are all pulling for me helps me more than I can say.

Some photos from my walk through the park on the way to the theater:

I like this plant – does anyone know what it is called?

The dome on the Museum of Man – right next to the theater.

The entrance to the Festival Stage – the outdoor theater in which the Summer Repertory is performed.

My favorite – the vintage carousel between the Zoo and the Spanish Village. The kids love it. Heck, I love it.

This morning I am going to take a walk on the beach and stop by Vignettes. That means that I shall soon have some pretty pictures to share with you.

Can’t wait to see your pictures, Claudia! These are wonderful. I love carousels, too. We rode on one when Claudie was here for her birthday. I think it’s a dollar a ride for adults and kids. I love that. Something fun for so little cost!

You asked me about the photos. I went into my picaso albums and started deleting thing which I “hope” were not used in any posts. I’m not sure, so I might wake up with a bunch of things missing. Yikes! ;-)

I am going to have to “buy” more space. That’s what Shelia did. Fortunately, I had worked on a couple of posts before I ran out of space, so what you are seeing was pretty much done before I was spaceless.

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

    Hi Claudia:
A walk on the beach sounds perfect! I’m sure you’ll have a good week…then only two more before you go home! Hope the time flies for you. Perhaps you could do a quick “21 Squares” project to help pass the time?
    xoxo

Hmmm, looks like that may be a butterfly bush or something in that family. My butterfly bush just started to blossom this week-end, in fact I took photos of it yesterday… not full color yet but it’s working on it.

I bought one of those plants from a girl selling California native plants at the farmers market a few years back. Oh, how I wish I could remember the name. I just saw them growing at Pebble Beach (Carmel)a couple weeks ago and was trying to remember the name! So sorry!
As far as growing it– super easy-peasy! It’s very similar to growing rosemary, and very draught resistant. I love those flowers! The one I grew smelled really good when you press the flowers/leaves– like vanilla? (Try it and see!) The one I grew had incredible ultra-violet fuzzy flowers. I’d never seen flowers that intense color before.
If I’m able to find out the name, I’ll definitely get back to you!
    Hugs,
    Jill

Oh sweetie~Ive been out of the loop and just caught up. Yes, as mom always said, it will pass. oh we could go on and on about those things said that really dont help, Ive heard them all. But dear one take heart, homecoming will be so full of joy & anticipation. I bet your husband will just spoil you rotten when you get there. Breakfast in bed? Moonlight & champagne. Oh the bliss & heartache of missing your true love. Maybe you should write a new play about the heart’s ups & downs. You could use the mermaid on the buffet table longing to go back to the sea;)

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
