On the Road

October 9, 2008 at 10:58 am by Claudia

I’m far away from Mockingbird Hill Cottage. I’ve traveled from the Northeast to the Southeast. Yes, I’m back in Gainesville. It is sunny and beautiful, but I miss the brilliant fall colors of the Hudson Valley. Yesterday’s flight (Jet Blue) was on time. I love Jet Blue because they have a direct flight from my little airport to Orlando. And they have leg room; which, for a tall gal, makes the journey much more comfortable. I drove from Orlando to Gainesville (about 2 hours) on I-75, which was more like a game of Roller Derby. People driving like maniacs, truckers driving semis like they were little race cars…insane. At one point, I was so boxed in by crazed truckers that I missed my exit. I was mad. It had already been a long day and I had to drive 10 miles out of my way, turn around, and try again. I finally arrived, checked in, and made my way to the theatre. They were behind on their schedule which is not surprising during a tech week. This is a big, big production. I said hello to everyone and watched a bit of the rehearsal with the orchestra and cast. Happily, I got to come home early and crash.

Today we have two dress runs: one in the afternoon and one in the evening. This is the first day with the local munchkins. Each city on the tour will have a new batch of children playing munchkins. I will also get to see Toto (played by two dogs.)
I miss the Cottage but love my work. I wanted to include a photo of the living room with shafts of sunlight coming in but I’m having trouble posting a photo on Blogger. Don’t know why.
I’ll try again later – in the meantime, have a lovely day.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
