On the Road

January 13, 2020 at 10:07 am by Claudia

No, I’m not doing laundry but I am  trying to get everything together to drive to Hartford later this morning! It’s insane the amount of things I need to take for two and a half days. Lots of ‘office stuff’ and food and coffee and toiletries and a hair dryer and books and a mug and coffee filters and pour-over and clothes and shoes and an umbrella, blah, blah, blah.

I’m tired just thinking about it.

I’ll blog tomorrow, as I’ll have my laptop with me.

It’s colder today, with gray skies. Don insisted on making a dinner for me that I can take with me and eat this evening. He’s doing that this morning. What a cutie!

I’ll miss him.

Anyway, my friends, I’ll chat with you tomorrow.

Happy Monday.

Could Don go with you…perhaps relax while you are working. A short getaway together…????

Frankly, it’s more relaxing in our house. He’ll be happier there. There’s not a lot to do around here in the downtown area and what there is to do, we’ve done. Thanks, Brenda!

i’m tired just reading that list of take-alongs … but i understand it! when i traveled more for work (to conferences and meetings), i would bring lots of stuff to be prepared and feel more confident. though i have a few more years until retirement and still must go to conferences, i am not a presenter (due to voice troubles) and thankfully my travels now are for fun things (spending time with family, seeing new places, going to concerts and museums) where i can be my much more casual self and not have to bring so much “professional” stuff.

anyway, good luck with the packing, traveling and work. not that you need it. i bet you have it down pat!

not surprised to hear that don is making dinner for you to take to hartford. very thoughtful!maybe he could go with you, too? :)

    have fun!

No sense his coming with me – there’s not a lot to do here and he’s spent time here before. Plus, in the winter, one of us has to be home at the house, monitoring pipes, etc. Thanks, Kathy.

Safe travels, kiddo. It always seems one needs to take nearly as much stuff if we are going for a few days or for 2+ weeks. More clothes is about the only difference. The “essentials” are just that for most trips. I know the work will be fulfilling, so enjoy the time!

I love how you hung the Laundry scarf on the window. You have such a great eye.

I hope your work goes well. Enjoy!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
