From a local new and used bookstore., where we stopped the other day so Don could replenish his TBR stack. He bought Walden, which he has never read. We also stopped and had a late breakfast. We never go out to eat or to the movies. So we thought, given our car issues, that we deserved a small – and inexpensive – treat.
Don’s car is back. My new tires are on my car. It sure makes a difference in the way it rides. I’m going to have to drive to Hartford today. The weather, though still bad, isn’t as bad as predicted. We will have heavy rain today, but by the time I leave, the freezing rain will be long gone.
I’m so exhausted, though. This was the second night in a row where I didn’t sleep nearly enough. But it’s either today or tomorrow and if I went tomorrow I’d have to spend the night in order to pass notes along to the actors the next day. I’d rather not spend the night since I’m going to have to do that next week. So, I’m going to pray for the strength to get through this very long day. I’m relieved about the weather, though it will still be dark and rainy when I’m driving home tonight.
Sigh. This has been a difficult week, to put it mildly.
Tomorrow, I plan to take it easy all day long.
Okay friends. I have to get going. Wish me luck today!
Happy Thursday.
Good luck! Travel safe! ;)
Thank you, Donnamae!
I hope the day is better than you expected and the good thing is that you’ll be able to sleep and wake up in your own bed. Take care.
Thank you, Fiona!
Safe travels to and from!
Thank you, Cathy!
late getting here. you’re either on the road or already there!
I’ll be thinking of you tonight! drive safely and get home in one piece as my mother used to say!
Godspeed dear bean! xoxo
Thank you, Tammy!
It’s almost 12:30 here about 20 minutes NW of Hartford and we still have branches coated with ice altho the air temp is 36. Roads are OK tho. I’m hoping it will warm up more so that your drive home is easy. I wish you a good sleep tonight. Stay safe!
Thank you, Nora!
I like your picture of the bookshop – I could have a lot of fun there. Have a safe trip and tell us more about Jane Eyre when you return!
I listened to a replay of Mitt Romney last evening We are not religious and our politics are not conservative, but I surely do admire that man’s faith. It fills me with hope that we might be able to visit America again one day.
Me too, Barbara. I have yet to have time to listen to his speech, but I’ll do that today.
I think you may have already arrived at your destination- hope the journey was kind to you and you can now rest.
Breakfast out with a visit to a bookstore is my kind of heaven
Siobhan
Thank you, Siobhan!

Thank you, Kathy!
Safe travels! Hoping you will sleep well tonight. Being in your own bed will help, I am sure. Hope it was a productive day.
Thank you, Chris!
Definitely DO wish you luck and safe journey, Claudia; I hope you sleep like a baby tonight after the stress. Driving in the rain is no fun; not at all. You’ve got some pressure on you, for sure.
Thank you, Vicki!
Be careful driving home, especially if you’re tired.
What a beautiful, cozy book nook. I love stores like that. And you deserve a treat!
Thank you, Jeanie!
Have a safe trip. That bookstore looks so inviting. Hope Don enjoys the book.
Marilyn
Thank you, Marilyn!
Safe travels please…safe safe…
I love WALDEN…have read it often…my son loved it when young.
I also taught parts of it in high school and in university. Especially at this time in this country, this will give your husband a time of peace, quiet, goodness. It is fantastic. Hope he enjoys it.
He is loving it, Brenda. And I’m going to reread it after he’s finished. Thank you!
