There it is. I took these photos late yesterday afternoon, and the lithograph was lit by the setting sun.
We’re very pleased with the final result.
Detail on the frame, which is black with a raised leaf design that is touched by bronze.
It hangs here. We can see it from everywhere in the living room and also from the den.
It’s amazing what a difference it makes in the room.
I just might sit on the living room sofa and gaze upon it all day long.
We looked more closely at the green coffee can in the photo. It says:
Composition des Moines
Moka des Moines
Clichy-La-Garenne
Clichy-La-Garenne is a commune on the Seine in the northwestern suburbs of Paris. Its church was built in the 17th century, as directed by St. Vincent de Paul. He had been curΓ© (priest) of Clichy.
Yesterday started out sunny but turned cloudy. Today? Sunny all day. I’m going to enjoy it while I can. Sunday’s forecast is for 3-5 inches of snow, with an additional 2 inches on Monday (of course, Don has an audition that day.)
No to snow. I’m not ready for it.
Happy Tuesday.

wow; that is great, claudia … the litho, your choice of frame and placement …! know you will enjoy looking at it and being reminded of your trip.
saying no to snow here, too. and (for once) the rain that is to arrive later today … because (depending on the temperature when it starts, as you know) rain can freeze. i’ll accept the snow, but no ice or falls, please!
safe travels to everyone! and happy (early) thanksgiving.

Yes, no ice! Stay safe, Kathy!

Beautifully fitting frame, Claudia. Enjoy the litho always. After weeks of beautiful clear blue skies, rain is supposed to start this afternoon. Iβll have to go out for my daily walk soon. What are your Thanksgiving plans? Just me and my daughters. Weβre planning, cooking and baking to have a Thanksgiving high tea. Scones baked and frozen last night. Pumpkin bread to be baked today. Gingerbread Victoria sponge baked tomorrow. Sandwich fillings and cream puff shells for fillings made Thanksgiving morning before we go see the Mr. Rogers movie.

We’re going over to Rick and Doug’s, where we will join two longtime friends of Rick’s (who we also know) and one of Doug’s daughters and her husband. Sounds lovely, right?
Love your idea of Thanksgiving high tea! Perfect, Wendy!

Have a wonderful intimate Thanksgiving. Smaller guest list means more conversation, I believe. We’ve had huge Thanksgiving dinners when my Dad wasn’t in assisted living, and over 25 guests make getting around to everyone for a nice chat difficult.
Claudia says
I think you’re right. And we always have a lively conversation! Thanks, Wendy!

Wow, what a treasure you have there! It seems the frame was meant for it, good choice!
Happy Thanksgiving!
We are going to my niece’s home for dinner and I can not remember the last time I was not the cook. Well I baked a pumpkin roll today and purchased the ingredients for salad which I will prep tomorrow.
Claudia says
Enjoy not having to cook the big things, Kelly!

It looks lovely, Claudia. I often feel the same way once I hang a piece of art and enjoy gazing at it so much; for the longest time we had a blank wall surrounding the black rectangle of our television; I knew I wanted a gallery wall around it and had the framed artwork, but just needed time to dedicate to it, especially since I we have plaster walls and I have a picky husband. Eventually we had the time, spent an afternoon mapping everything out, and completed the work….and what a difference it has made in our sunroom.
As an aside, I grew up going to a church and grammar school named for St. Vincent de Paul; I have always loved his compassion for the poor, something we need to remember to this day.

It makes such a big difference to a room, Tisha!
Thank you!
Nora in CT says
The print itself is humble and charming but the frame elevates it completely to art status. Subtle but the touch of bronze is beautiful!!

Thank you, Nora!
