Happy Pink Saturday! Please visit Beverly for a list of everyone participating.
From a box of linens bought at auction, I found this sweet dresser scarf:
Oooh – pink! What to do with it? Then I thought of this undecorated window at the top of the stairs.
This window is in my ‘studio.’ I use the term loosely – but the whole upstairs landing and hallway is my creative space. This is a glimpse of the area just to the right of the window.
I had an extra curtain rod left after I hung curtains in the living room and bathroom. So I went to work and put up the rod. Then I ran to Lowe’s and bought clips to hang the dresser scarf. Total cost: $4.00.
It is so gosh darn hard to get a good photo with the light coming in. Here’s a couple more:
It was a gray and snowy day as I took these photos! I love my new valance – it works perfectly in the color palette of pink, aqua and lavender that runs throughout the ‘studio’ space.
Have a great day everyone. We are off to Manhattan tonight to see one of my former students, along with another friend of ours, perform in a production of Present Laughter by Noel Coward. It is on Broadway and I am very excited to see one of my favorite students work on a Broadway stage.
The Quintessential Magpie says
Claudia, I can’t believe that’s a dresser scarf as it works perfectly as a valance! So pretty with its pink floral design!
And what a fun thing to get to see someone you know in a Broadway play! Something tells me you were a favorite teacher as well…
XO,
Sheila (who is preparing to leave on a blogging break!) :-)
Country Wings in Phoenix says
Oh Claudia…
Happy Pink Saturday sweetie. I so love this scarf. It makes the most precious window valance ever. I just love it. Imagine what one of this quality would cost if you went and bought it. You did a beautiful job of hanging it, and it is so feminine looking. I love it.
Now I spied on your little work area behind your sewing machine a Lambchops. I have my very first Lambchops puppet. It is very old. Has a plastic head and a cloth hand area, and I fell in love with Lambchops because of Sherry Lewis. I thought I was very special because I had the same first name. Instantly fell in love with the puppet. I’ll get it out this weekend and post a picture of her. You won’t believe it.
Love ya sweetie. Thanks for sharing. I sure do love your work area. How wonderful the lighting is, and a cute little space tucked away just for you.
Happy Pink Saturday sweetie. Country hugs, Sherry

Claudia the Curtain Gal…that you are and so clever and thrifty. The scarf was a perfect fit and such a great idea, and you still have lots of light for your crafting space. I see you have a very nice quilter on your table….ist it a Janome? It looks like their style of machine, but I couldn’t see a tag. I have several Janome’s and love the way they sew. I also, saw your LambChop. So cute and like Sherry, I have one too. I call her LambKins and she’s been my partner in many knitting projects. Thanks for visiting today on this cold Texas Pink Saturday! Gosh, this weather makes me ready for sunshine and thorny roses.

I’m a day late and a dollar short with my Pink Saturday visits. The sun was shining too bright yesterday and just like a little kid I couldn’t stop marveling at how lovely it was as it beamed through my lace curtains and puddled on the floor. My cats were in heaven.
So, here I am today, a little late but thinking that I got a bonus because I avoided all the traffic!
Lovely blog and the sweetest pinks that you shared. Thank you so much for making this such a lovely Sunday for me.
