Pink Saturday

May 29, 2010 at 12:03 am by Claudia

Happy 2nd Anniversary, Pink Saturday!

These peonies are for you, Beverly. Thank you for all the time and care you put into this celebration every week. You are a gem.

I am posting this while I am working far away from my home. I’m currently in San Diego and my temporary digs leave much to be desired decor-wise. However, I do have some pink.

This is the view as I sit on the couch and blog. My pink pajamas, a vintage pink tea towel, my pink rose mug and one of my California finds – a pink glove box.

I found this at an antique store and debated whether to buy it. I fell in love with it right away (I’ve started a collection of glove boxes) but the price was a bit high. I went away and when I returned a week later, it was still there – calling to me. I gave in.

Isn’t this fabric beautiful? So old fashioned and flowery. I’m used to seeing solid color glove boxes. This is the first time I’ve seen one in a flower print.

I’m storing all my embroidery supplies inside. I really, really love this piece.

Please celebrate with us and stop by Beverly’s blog to see a list of everyone participating in Pink Saturday’s 2nd Anniversary.

I know what you mean, I love the glove boxes too! I found a very shabby one in an antique shop and recovered it in a swap and it turned out great! So if you see one shabby, buy it, it comes apart easy and you can easily recover it! Love your pinks! Happy PS! Suzie

You look like you’ve settled right in, honey. ;-) Love your jammies and the coffee table with cover. You’re doing well in decorating a “rental” place for yourself for a few months. If we were down there now, I’d take you out to dinner. I know you must be homesick!

    Hi Claudia,
I love that box covered in pretty pink. The best part about being away in a temporary place is that you don’t feel the pressure to be doing everything around the house.

I love Pink Saturday and that it has connected me to wonderful people like you. Wishing you a Happy Pink Saturday Birthday, and many more pink posts to come.

    Hi Claudia,

Happy PiNk to you…I have the exact floral tea towel….the fabric is fairly thick, isn’t it? I bet I’ve had them for more than 20 years…I believe they are actually made from tablecloth weight fabric…so many of my vintage tablecloths resemble this weight. I’ve got one in the color of yours and another with the jadite/mint green background color.

The glove box is so pretty..I can see how those would be habit forming. :0) Perfect for storing tiny stuff.

I hope you are having a great weekend..

The PiNk party will be drifting throughout the week..don’t miss all the divine virtual desserts!

I’ve created a celebration button for all the pinkies if you’d like to snag it.

    Thanks for visiting me!

Claudia, I now know what type of box I store my remote controls in! I have the exact same box, but mine is a solid pale pink, and I had no idea it was a glove box! I just knew years ago when I spotted it that it would be perfect to hide the unsightly remote controls on the coffee table!

Well, Sophie is doing fine but we had to take Kodak to the emergency vet in the middle of the night last night. They gave him a pain shot and some antiflamatory meds and I’ll be making an appointment with his regular vet soon.
