Pink Saturday

July 18, 2009 at 12:00 am by Claudia

How did it get to be Pink Saturday so quickly? This week has flown by. Please visit Beverly’s lovely blog to see the list of all those participating in the fun.

I don’t have many roses in my garden yet, but this is my Lady Elsie May rose – a deep pink that I love. It seems to be thriving, in spite of the dreaded Japanese Beetle. I don’t use pesticides, so I’m afraid we all have to co-exist!

I bought this vintage lampshade when I was visiting Christie Repasy’s store. I’m afraid I had to have it. It graces a floor lamp in the living room – the base of the lamp is black, but I am soon going to paint it white. Isn’t the shade beautiful?

I bought this little pitcher from France at Vignettes in San Diego. I fell in love with the delicate colors.

Happy Pink Saturday, everyone! Thank you for stopping by.

Oh, I love Christy Repasy’s painting! It’s so beautiful . . . I hope to visit her store one day and hopefully buy one of her pieces!

Those darned Japanese Beetles, they’re so awful! They’ve pretty much eaten up my ‘Berry Elegans’ vine . . . I’m not so kind I’m afraid. I bought a spray that kills them on contact and I’ve been using it with wild abandon . . . sorry Claudia! It’s the beetles or my vines, roses and daisies!

    Love the pretty pitcher!

    Have a Happy Pink Saturday!

I caught up on your posts Claudia.
I adore the little doll Tresa ( I think that’s how you spelled it). Your Tiger Lilies are beautiful. I am re-doing my front gardens (what a task) and I think that’s what I will have with some Hosta’s.
Love your roses, pitcher and that shade…yummy girlfriend. Love the way you situated it near the Christy R. lovely.
Have you been getting lots of rain?? We have been so wet. Every day there is a rain storm. Lucky, the new senior dog is really afraid of thunder (of course I didn’t know that). I’m sure other things will pop up with both, but we are enjoying them immensely.
Love the pictures of your fur babies around Theresa. Happy PS oh & congrats on your awards. You deserve them.
    Love Claudie

i think you made a mistake on that lamp shade and it was suppose to be shipped here, to moi house……lol….that is one of the most beautiful lampshades I have ever seen…..longer fringe would have been real pretty but those roses are divine….can’t wait to see pictures when you have her on her white lamp post.
