Look at the photo below and tell me what element in this scene is out of place? I don’t mean to be unduly tough on you, but you have only one guess.

If you guessed ‘snow’ you are 100% correct.

What the ???? It was nearly 70 degrees on Friday, in the 50’s on Saturday and Sunday. Yesterday, I was cleaning up the garden. This morning, I awoke to this nightmarish sight. To say that we were shocked and depressed is putting it mildly. And we might get more on Wednesday.

It’s heavy and wet, part rain, part snow. It is to be colder than normal this week as well. Oh March, you are a fickle month!

I had to have some hot chocolate and cookies. Comfort food.

OH no… I hate to say but you can keep it. I have seen enough of it this winter and we dont normally see it that much but 8 days in a row was all I could stand.

I feel for you and all I can say is hang on and its a good thing you did not plant any flowers yet.

    Think Spring…

    Dearest Claudia,

Today I feel your pain……..we’ve had wind and rain all day after having almost 90 degree weather last week. I’m not looking forward to the triple digits, but if there were any way to live out here and keep it in the 75-80 degree range I would be in heaven. Try to have a great week anyway.

    Love ya’

Well, sweetpea, I’d say hot chocolate WITH MARSHMALLOWS is in line for this catastrophe. Cold icy rain here the past couple of days also. And we’re desert!

Mercy heavens, but I feel your pain. here in southern Cali we have had one real stormy weekend. I woke up to snow covered mountains and freezing wind blowing down off the snow. The only thing encouraging, is this late storm almost surely means bountiful wildflowers!!

I have to smile reading this, as we are not terribly far from each other, it would seem! VERY similar weather forecasts; and yes, I woke up to the same feeling of “What the ……?!!” All we can do is TRY to smile through it, and just hang in there! ~tina

Oh, crum. Shocking and depressing is right. I’m so sorry. But it seems you’re not the only ones. Many of my Canadian friends had snow over the weekend, too. We had a lot of storms in the first part of March – not snow but double the normal rainfall. Last few days have been blissfully dry with some “sunbreaks” as we call them here in the Northwest. Hope you have sunshine soon! xoxo – g

Okay, pass me a cup a cocoa. I feel your pain. I don’t have snow here, but after being teased by the sun, the rain is back and not ending anytime soon. I guess I should be thankful that I don’t have to shovel snow.

    So sorry for you…
    Hugs,
    Jill

I completely understand Claudia. We are supposed to have blizzard like conditions here today too and it’s enough to make me cry in frustration. I think I might go have some cookies with you :) Hang in there- it has to get warm and sunny sooner or later- Mother Nature can’t keep this up forever ♥

    Hi Claudia,
We had a mean rain and wind storm over the weekend. The wind was howling through the windows even..I just stayed in with the fireplace on and sewed…
I think its been a long winter for a lot of folks..

I kept looking at the picture and wondering what was out of place. I would not have guessed in a million years because it snowed all day in Ottawa yesterday and I’m quite used to a white landscape. Anyways, I always expect March to be moody so I’m never surprised at the weather. Enjoy your cookies. Now, you are making me very, very hungry.

Ahhh Claudia! When we lived in central NY state, I can remember snow on the Maple trees sometimes as late as April weighing down their leaves until they touched the ground! We do not miss the Northern winters at all. We have been having weather in the 80’s but not humid with heavenly breezes and our square foot garden behind the shed is ready for planting. Sending you a big Spring hug to put in your garden and grow…..♥

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
