Potpourri on Friday

April 8, 2011 at 10:04 am by Claudia

From Boston’s Public Garden: The ponds haven’t been filled with water yet, but luckily there was enough for the resident duck population. A boy and his father were having a good time feeding the ducks. Speaking of birds, have you been watching this as much as I have? Absolutely fascinating.

From a cupcake shop on Charles Street: I loved this idea. What kid doesn’t like a cupcake? A whole wall was filled with framed photos of children eating cupcakes.

I had a cupcake and I must be honest. It was too rich. No, you’re not seeing things. It was too rich for me and I had to stop eating it. A cupcake apocalypse?

Remember my post about Moxie?

I spotted this little shop on Charles Street. Excellent name for a shop, don’t you think?

And finally: Bored in my hotel room, I started taking photos of myself in the mirror above the desk.

My hand looks enormous.

Yes, I’m wearing different glasses now. I still have the blue ones, never fear.

I played around a bit in Picnik and used the Cross-Process effect. I kind of like it.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Picnik is so fun for playing with photos… I do the same.

We have a couple of those fancy cupcake shops here in Roanoke and they are way too rich. Not sure why they think they need to make them so terribly sweet.

I love the cupcake idea, too! That would be a great thing to do on a wall at your home of family…just using nice black and whites of all the family members and even the pets. I’ll have to remember this. Thanks for sharing. Love your necklace you are wearing in the photo. Have a great weekend, Claudia. xoxo Kim

I’m going to be in Boston the first part of May visiting my brother. Any ideas of places I should visit, he will be working and I believe he has a couple of rehearsal for a concert he’s sing in (don’t have all the details yet). Let know if you have any suggestion. I guess I’ll have to find the cupcake store. susan

Greetings from Frog Hollow Farm. I love seeing how you spend your days! I’m not a sweet eater as much as FHFB – one bite of most cupcakes is good enough for me. But, give me a bag of potato chips and watch out – there ain’t much sharing going on! I’ve been shoe shopping today – it takes a certain kind of shoe to look good on a size 9 foot! Ciao, bella!

    Hi Claudia Sweetie…
A gorgeous share of the pond and the duckies. Looks like the Dad and Son were having a wonderful time there, but it looks SO cold. Yikes…

That cupcake wall is a precious idea. What kid doesn’t love a cupcake. To rich hu? Well send me one, let me test it, and I will let you know. Ha! Ha! I know what you mean, some are so rich they are almost nauseating. Being an insulin diabetic, I cannot eat to much of something really rich.

Love the mirror picture of you sweet Claudia. Beautiful as ever.

Hope you have a glorious weekend. As always I love visiting Mockingbird Hill Cottage. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
