Three days of rain so far and more tomorrow. Feast or famine. We’re thrilled about the rain but of course, the ground has been so dry that there are flood warnings everywhere. It’s been so long since I’ve got out of bed in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and heard the rain on the roof.
That being said, it’s non-stop right now and will continue to be all day and night.
For those of you just checking in today because you thought I was away, I didn’t go. I hurt my back Sunday morning – not terribly – but enough to make me uneasy about driving 11 hours in two days. As it turned out, they were behind in tech rehearsals, so I wouldn’t have been able to see a run that night. It would have been a wasted journey. So I’m going on Friday and will come back on Saturday. I’m starting coaching on Jim’s show tomorrow and Thursday, so it will be a busy week. Again – feast or famine.
Anyway, you can scroll back and see the Sunday and Monday posts.
Today? Nursing my back. Washing the bedding. Taking care of some business emails. I didn’t get enough sleep last night for some reason, so a nap is definitely on the agenda.
Stay safe.
Happy Tuesday.

lovely photo of your lovely view … and three days of rain! glad you have it. and hopefully no one has flooding.
hope and praying your back continues to improve. good you have a few more days to recuperate before the long drives to/from rochester.
a couple of little “adventures” here. a happy one was some of my family and i taking a ride on a train north of here for a scenic view and lunch onboard, about three hours long. lots of fun, but also lots of nerves being on a crowded observation deck at times to see a couple of extra-scenic spots (especially over a very high bridge). we wore masks, but no one else did. first restaurant-style meal in over two and a half years. made easier because we rented one of the two private cars. saw beautiful views, had a nice meal, made great memories.
also, chipped a tooth. don’t know how it happened and of course it couldn’t be in the back. nope … a tooth right next to one of the two biggest front teeth. i agree with my sister that it’s not very big so hopefully no one will ever notice it … but i prided myself on my teeth and to have one chip for no known reason is making me feel old. ugh.
and then when i came home last night, another tenant stopped me in the garage and said we had to leave the building because there was a gas leak. utility company came out, landlord did as well. found a gas stove left just slightly on in the apartment of a girl gone for the weekend. pilot light not on, but gas was able to seep out. argh. don’t need another worry!
anyway, prayers for better days for all, including everyone here. stay safe!

I hope everything calms down for you, Kathy! But that train ride with your family sounds lovely.

I can feel the coolness in your photograph! Today is going to be another hot, hot, hot day here, expected to be 103, which will probably be higher…Hope you’re back is better! Rest always helps!
Claudia says
I hope the temps get better for you, Barrie.
I’m resting. I tweaked it a bit this morning, so I’m babying it.
Stay safe.

So sorry to hear about your back, but it sounds like it all turned out for the best….except for your back.
Rain! Yes to the glorious rain. Unfortunately it always seems to come, if it comes, all at once, doesn’t it?
I took you at your word and never checked on Sunday or Monday to see if you posted. The eye chip thing sounds complicated, especially when you add in the eyelashes. But, if you are going to do that with some of your other gals, at least you now know how to do it.
Take it easy today, and rest up….the rest of your week sounds tiring! ;)
Claudia says
I’m afraid it will be tiring, Donnamae!
Stay safe.

Such a lovely & expressive photo.
Hope you’re having cooler temperatures with all that long-awaited rain.
How I envy both the rain & cooler temperatures.
Wishing you a peaceful, restful, recuperative day.
Claudia says
Thank you Amy.
It’s still raining.
Stay safe.

I LOVE that picture! You can just feel the rain. I am imagining you can really hear it when you are in your bedroom with the slanted roof. Still jealous we don’t have one.
Off that subject, do you or anyone who reads your blog follow the Author and Artist Susan Branch? I just received a newsletter today from her. I am glued to the stuff she writes and I have so many of her books. Her latest one is Distilled Genius, a book of quotes, which is another thing I collect. She is definitely a kindred spirit of mine. If you don’t know about her, check her out. Might be good reading while you are nursing your back. Enjoy the rain while you can. Take care!
Claudia says
Oh, yes, I know Susan Branch and have read some of her books. We chat a bit on Twitter.
She’s lovely.
Stay safe, Deb.

Sorry the back is still bothering you. Would Don be able to travel with you this weekend since you will come back on Saturday? That would be helpful, I would think, if he could help drive. 11 hours with a bad back doesn’t sound delightful at all. Maybe by Friday you will feel much better.
I’m so happy you did get rain. With the ground as hard as it surely was, I bet a lot of it was just bouncing off at first. And then the flood warnings come. Feast or famine. I hope you will soon report the grass is greening up!! Take care.
Claudia says
I’m not going to enlist Don unless I still have a lot of pain. He has things to attend to here. We’ll see how I feel on Friday.
Stay safe, Chris.
