Rainy Day & Square #30

March 30, 2010 at 9:23 am by Claudia

Yesterday, today and tomorrow: rain. Today is windy, cold and rainy – a sinus-headachey kind of day. Begone, headache! The dogs are bored, I’m irritable – sounds charming here at the cottage, doesn’t it?

My Dad sent this photo of a coyote. Yes, a coyote that was right outside his door in Florida.

Great photo, Dad! I’m glad your new kittens stay indoors. I wouldn’t want them near this guy. My sister lives in the same area and says she sometimes sees them walking down the street.

I wanted to share a photo of my father-in-law:

This was taken last year while I was out in San Diego. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to spend time with him. I miss you, Lee.

Square #30:

A white wicker rocker on my porch.

Have a great day.

I’ve been away too long and I’ve missed so much! I love your squares! You are doing a lovely job! Glad the little kittens were inside and not in harms way of the coyote. I hope sunshine comes your way soon!

    Dear Claudia,

Good morning! The picture of you and your FIL is beautiful, and such a treasure.

Seeing the piccy of the coyote is funny cause we have them all over the place out here. We see mountain lions, coyotes, snakes, scorpions, spiders, turkey vultures, and all kinds of critters…….it is the desert ya know! You gotta’ respect them as we are living in their home, not the other way around.

Tell Don I offer my continued condolences, and hope and pray he and you find peace with losing such a vital part of your family.

    God Bless,
    Meri

What a wonderful picture of you and your FIL- what a sweetie! The coyote is beautiful! We can sometimes hear them at night where I live, but I’ve never seen one. Love the new square too♥ Just try to remember through your headache that those showers will bring beautiful flowers :)

Such a wonderful photograph of you and Lee, Claudia!
The coyotes and mountain lions are coming into the foothill towns like Boulder and Colorado Springs here. Too close for comfort. I’m glad that they are still wild up here where I live, and are afraid of humans.
Square 30 is a cutie. I’m on 24, stitching as fast as my clumsy little fingers can go!
    Sending more hugs your way,
    Zuzu

Claudia, I was checking in with you one more time before I left for my extended absence. I love seeing the pic of you and your sweet FIL. Thanks for sharing that with us, and I’m thinking of you and your sweetie, too. I’m hoping you’ll be feeling better soon.

We once saw a coyote run across the road in front of our car, and at first we thought it was the biggest fox we’d ever seen. I was stunned to find out it was a coyote. I’ve never seen them in Florida until recent years. I’ve no idea how they got here, but they are beautiful. I wish you and your DH would come for an extended visit to Florida and work us into the loop of family and friends when you do. I would love more than anything to meet you. I think Mr. Magpie would love both of you, too. How could he not!

Sending warm hugs to you, my friend…

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

    Hi Claudia,

Good pictures of the coyote and you and your father-in-law. Sorry for your loss. We have foxes that live in our area. It’s so much fun to watch the little playing.

I love your 39 square piece. You are so creative.

We have wind today in Kansas. We are supposed to have rain later in the week.

Hope the headache goes away soon.

sadly this is becoming quite common as our developing has severly limited the natural habitat of so many of nature’s woodland creatures :( I love the wicker chair block, one of my favorites so far!

We occasionally see a coyote around our house, running through the field, etc… It’s been a while since we’ve seen one, though.

Oh, Claudia, he looks like such a sweet man! I can see why you love him and will miss him. What a beautiful photograph of the two of you.

I love all wildlife, even wiley coyotes. Of course I wouldn’t want them eating any of my sammy’s or chips, but they are gorgeous creatures. On very rare occasions we have had one come by our yard, even in the middle of a neighborhood. Glad my kitties were indoors all the time!… Donna

That coyote looks a bit thin. Such a tough life they have. We have wolves in Idaho and their packs are getting so big now that the coyotes are in jeopardy. The pic of you and Lee is just wonderful. He looks as though he was a very sweet soul. I know you and your family are missing him. Your little white rocker is so sweet on your embroidery. Take care dear Claudia!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
