Random on Monday

July 18, 2011 at 9:12 am by Claudia

:: Just playing with my camera on a Monday morning – trying to find some cool in the midst of all this hot weather we are having. The birdbath has become a very popular hangout for those in need of a refreshing dip. This is the time of year I wish I lived on a lake or had a pool. My sister has a pool but, unfortunately, she lives in Florida.

:: I’ve decided to have my gall bladder removed. ASAP. But I have to wait until this Thursday to meet with a surgeon. Just take the thing out, already. Do you know that if I had gone to the emergency room just one day sooner, they would have taken the gall bladder out the day after my procedure and the whole thing would be a distant memory? Because it was close to a holiday weekend and for some reason they don’t remove gall bladders on a Friday, they wouldn’t take it out. This whole thing is dragging on a bit too long for me. I have to start looking for work but I can’t do that until I’ve recovered from the surgery. In the meantime, I am devouring mysteries. I’m reading more than I have in a long time.

:: I’m on day 21 of no coffee and am through the worst part of withdrawal. However, every morning I have a little slump after I’ve been up an hour or two. I usually fall asleep in the chair for a few minutes. I’m looking forward to the day when all of my energy comes back and there are no longer any cravings.

:: I’ve been visiting all the wonderful creative spaces in Where Bloggers Create. I’m up to the Rs now. Every space reflects the personality of the artist and the variety of sizes, shapes and colors never ceases to amaze me. If you haven’t already, you should stop by and visit. Very inspiring! If you’re here for my WBC post, just scroll down.

:: A shot of the Jumping Jacks in the morning light. Have a wonderful Monday.

The good thing is that the surgery is so much easier and the recuperation time is so much less that it was in the past. And at least you can look forward to feeling better. Hope you can get it done soon.

Love your little jumping jack rack! Very cool.

i’m glad you have decided to have your gall bladder removed. You will feel much better, or so say my friends who have had this done. I have thought about you so much. It’s been hot here, too,
You are such a good photographer. You know how to use the light!!!! I see those things sometimes, but to catch them in a photograph???? No, can’t do it.

Sorry to learn you are not feeling well. I really love your blog. The picture you posted this morning of the window is lovely. I have a thing for windows, mostly cats in windows but gorgeous curtains will do. All the best with what’s ahead. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4

Claudia, So sorry to read of your health issues. The scariest part for me was thinking about life without coffee….! Seriously though, have had lots of friends have their gallbladder removed and they are so happy once it is finally behind them. Here’s saying an extra little prayer for you for the day to hurry up and for a speedy recovery! Xo, Sue

I had to stop drinking coffee for a bit when I was pregnant and found that orange juice gave me a bit of a boost in the morning right before work. I hope this helps.

I don’t think I realized before that you have jumping jacks. What a marvelous thing to collect and have hanging around. Just so cute! Wishing you luck with that pesky gall bladder and I think it’s a good thing to have it out and get it over with. Life’s too short to sit around suffering.

Good Decision Claudia, you’ll feel much better. Easy surgery and recovery. The doctor will tell you that you can eat anything afterward…NOPE, not true…stay away from rich, greasy and spicy foods which I’m sure you already do.
Take Care and I’m sending good thoughts.

Whoa…. chickie…. I just got to the B’s in the Where Bloggers create party. I’m having a great time toooo.. :-)

Sorry they’re holding you up on the whole gall bladder gig…. darn it all. I had mine out and it was the easiest surgery I’ve ever had…. I was up and running (ok…not RUNNING) in a few days and had very little pain…. hope yours goes just as well.

No coffee….. hmmmmm. I used to drink a ton and for some reason lost my taste for it and drank only tea. Well, somehow I’ve had a yearning for it and have had gallons of the stuff…. I think it’s lots better for us to have NONE. Good job girl.

    Huggies,
    Spencer

Claudia, the good news is… I have heard from those who had the surgery, they were up and about within hours, felt normal within days. Had to remind themselves to take it easy for a week. Hope you find the same immediate relief, SOON!

Out darn gall bladder! We have a friend who had his out about a year ago. He had a very short recovery and even attended a football game with us a week after having it done. Of course I know everyone is different, but I hope you have the same quick, easy recovery. I know it’s never easy having these procedures done, but just think of all those Jack Reacher novels you can go through. Lee Child is the perfect choice to read when you have a lot going on and just need a good book for distraction… Ann

    Hi Claudia,

Good luck with your upcoming surgery, and I wish you a speedy recovery! I saw that you were featured on Pink Saturday. Congratulations, and it’s nice to meet you (online, that is). I love your precious jumping jacks that you have hanging on hooks. They look like they were made in Germany.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and for taking time to leave a comment. I’m glad you got to see what “Mitford” really looks like, since you have read the books. I like your charming cottage very much!

Just catching up after returning home… so glad to hear that you’re going to have the surgery. I know you will be feeling so much better soon.

I loved the visit to your wee little studio at WBC. Your creative space is so enchanting. Everything is so special, and I love that. I had hoped to have my creative space “photo worthy” by this year, however it just didn’t happen. Maybe next year? I’ll just keep chippin’ away at it.
