My friends, our sweet Riley is having some problems right now. We have given him some medication and are waiting to see if it helps him. If it doesn’t, we will have to take him to the doctor. He has always had health challenges and they seem to be getting worse. Today he couldn’t get up from the floor.
My Mother is also ailing and I will be going down to Florida to see her next Wednesday. I am trying to stay positive about things, but it is next to impossible at the moment. Whatever your beliefs, could you send your thoughts, prayers, healing energy and love to my Mom and Riley? They need them. I need them.

The same thing happended with Kodak and in his case it’s his spine. He’s on Metacam now and it has helped tremendously!

Claudia…I am so sorry to hear about your mom and your sweet Riley. It’s so hard when a human and a canine loved one is sick. I can sure relate. Our Jack Russell Obie is sick. He has diabetes. We have made the decision to see him through no matter what and some days that’s hard for us and of course for him. He pees on the floor, vomits about once a week a good amount and a good deal of the time is not feeling well…but we’ll go to the end with him cause we love him and he loves us.:) My mom died in 1998…five years after my dad did and all she wanted was to be with him. It’s hard to split yourself in two sometimes but you only get one mom. I hope you have help and that you are not the only one involved in her care at this point. I will be praying for you and her and Riley every day. Please pray also for our Obie would you? Thanks in advance! Hang in there…God will provide for you. Oh!! And congratulations on your blog being in the romantic homes mag!!!! That’s HUGE!!! Yeeeeehaaaaaa!!

I am so sorry to hear about sweet Riley this morning. My thoughts and heartfelt prayers are on their way and I’m sending some from Zeke and all the cats here too… know your dogs aren’t particularly fond of cats but if Zeke tells the cats to do something… well… they just have to listen to our Mountain of Fluff! Riley and Scout are practically “fam” here, well, that’s how we think of those darling babies of yours!

I can tell from his expression that he is an amazing friend. I had a Golden a few years back & she had the same sweet smile. Her hair turned all grey too as she aged. Poor Riley. Poor Mom. I hope they both get to feeling better. It is always so hard when our animals are ill and they can’t tell us what’s wrong and how they feel.
