Rivers, Spring, Scout and Scarves

March 20, 2012 at 8:27 am by Claudia

I live on one side of the Hudson River. Trader Joe’s is on the other side, far enough away that it’s in a different state. Today, I’m crossing the spectacular Hudson River, over this very bridge, on a quick run to TJ’s. The cupboards are bare, my friends.

I need to take a one day break from rock lifting. I started to clean out the garden beds yesterday and saw lots of little green things springing out of the ground. Ah, spring. What is it about it that lifts my mood? Despite all the stress and the worries, I find my overall mood is much lighter, much happier. And the weather has been so beautiful. Believe me, those of us in the Northeast do not take this unseasonably warm weather for granted. No, we bask in it, we play, we garden, we run around with smiles on our faces!

Miss Scoutie on our walk. This girl is love and spirit and joy and fun. She’s 13. She plays like she’s 3.  Every morning she greets me with a smile on her face, happy and excited and playful and ready for a brand new day. How can I not smile and be equally joyful, even though I am far from a morning person? She’s my teacher. So is Riley. I learn from them every day.

There’s that heart on her side. I love my little girl.

Two new scarves are in the shop, if you’re interested. One is in that gorgeous shade of green; I call it apple green or spring green. The other is in a shade of taupe that I’ve fallen in love with. The perfect neutral for your wardrobe. Both are light-as-a-feather blends of bamboo.

I’m experimenting with a larger size photo in my posts. Are they too large or do you like them this way?

Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Hi, Miss Scouttie is looking very young for her age. I would love to have a dog again. But i know i have to work all day next year, so is my boyfriend and i don’t want the dog to be all alone the whole day. I have to wait till i am a bit older and don’t have to work fulltime anymore.
It is sunny here in Holland to today and i am going to the shop on my bike, my fridge and cupboards are empty too.
I loooooooove the sjawls you made, i am sure you sell them soon.
    Have a nice sunny day.
    Hugs
    Maria

Hi Claudia, Isn’t this weather fabulous? Scout seems to be invigorated by it too-she looks very perky and her coat is gorgeous! Hope I look that good at her age :)
Although I like bigger pictures in general your photos today do not fit on my screen. I need to scroll up and down to see the entire photo. My favorite way to view them is to be able to click to enlarge to see more detail. Now I’m going over to see how big my photos are. I don’t like to examine my posts after I hit publish! Linda

    Good Morning Claudia Sweetie…
What a beautiful share this morning. I love seeing Ms Scouttie. She looks SO very happy to be out and about in the wonderful sunshine and fresh air. (Critters get tired of being locked indoors for the Winter as well.)

It sounds like you have our heat out in your part of the country. Yesterday was a 40ish day here in Phoenix, and this morning it is 48, with a high of 67 expected. I am asking who didn’t pay the heat bill? Could someone turn it back on? They say we are supposed to be in the 90s by the end of the week. I hope so, I do not like the cool air. It is so hard on my asthma.

Love the river and the bridge picture. It is pure beauty dear one. Have fun going to Trader Joes. It is one of my most favorite places to shop. I especially love their fresh flowers they always have. I never leave without a bouquet or plant of some sort.

Have a glorious day sweet friend. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Glad you are taking a break from the rocks. Make sure you bring home some Spring flowers from Trader Joes.
Love the picture size. I have never seen a border collie marked like your sweet one.
Have a great day. Love the new scarfs……..

Good morning Claudia. I am sure a bouquet is coming home with you today. I’ve been experimenting with sizes of pictures as well. I prefer xlarge most of the time (and my screen is 13″) so that does make more ‘scrolling ‘ when reading. Lately I have been putting text beside a picture when it is a ‘series’ type of post (ie) many examples of a project in progress. I don’t usually go lower than ‘large’.

    Claudia,
Living in Central Mass, I too am thrilled with this unseasonably warm weather. I have a post on my blog about my garden.

I received my 2 scarves. Love them! Beautiful packaging too. I am getting compliments on both.

The new photo size is just fine.

    Happy Spring!

Hi Claudia, I like the pictures large. Don’t you just love how our pets and sunshine have the ability to lift our moods? It’s definitely an early spring here in Michigan. The trees are already blooming! This is a beautiful heartfelt posting today. I’ve got my eye on one of those green scarves pay day is coming up soon.

Scout is so fun and cheers me every time I see her. Are your pics bigger than mine? I can’t tell. I love that first pic. And I like that watermark best of those you’ve tried. If you teach me how, I might just do it finally. Even though I’m a color person, I think that more muted shawl is truly beautiful!

Isn’t it amazing how Spring can lift our spirits. Lots of worries and crankiness this morning, so headed out for some errands and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Definite mood lifter.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
