Snow, sleet, a bit of ice – I’m not sure how much snow fell but it looks to be about an inch and a half. We’re staying away from it for a while because we have no idea how slippery it is out there. It’s already above freezing and the temp should reach 40, so we might wait for Mother Nature to melt some of this mess.

It’s not really a pretty snow. It’s  a messy snow.

May this be the last. The next 10 days shows snow showers off and on, but no measurable snow. Though we certainly have been surprised in the past by snow in late March and early April. Who knows?

My old friend Tom Sizemore died yesterday, surrounded by his family. Much too young. I’m very sad.

Rest in Peace, Tom.

Too much worry and loss lately. Too much.

I don’t have a whole lot more to say today. I’ll leave you with this little photo of Katie. When my friend Stacy gave her to me, she was wearing a wig. Wigs aren’t my favorite choice for a Blythe doll, but then again, you can play with different looks. I recently bought an inexpensive $20 wig for her and it arrived yesterday. My instincts were right about this choice:

I love these little curls! (She’s not sad, by the way, she just doesn’t like posing for pictures.)

Beautiful Katie.

Stay safe.

Happy Saturday.

I love Katie’s hair. Cute as a button and it’s a perfect style for you. I’m sorry about Tom Sizemore.

We got about four inches last night. I hope that’s it. It’s supposed to be high 40s today so I’m not worrying about shoveling. Unless my plow guys get here before it melts! I hope you can enjoy the weekend, lay low. You’ve had a lot on your heart of late.

Also. When we lived in the mountains, and my husband was over the dams etc. civil engineer, we owned the Hallmark store also..I got sick sick of snow from October to April. Sorry but had to go to business every day no matter what. Glad to see the snow gone and the store …hope you have a good good day today reading and puzzles.

Claudia, I don’t offhand remember Katie’s original look — can you put that in, so we can compare styles?

Petra, you’ll find a picture of Katie with longer hair in Claudia’s blog of January 17, 2023. She is wearing the same little black dress. Every girl should have one. Hugs, Elaine

I am sorry to hear about Tom Sizemore. I especially remember him from Saving Private Ryan…he was perfect in that role I thought.

I think Katie looks adorable with those curls. It is always curious how a change of hairstyle can change how one is perceived. I think that applies equally to Blythe dolls and humans…lol.

I hope your day goes well and your snow melts on its own! ;)

Snow hasn’t melted yet, but it’s slushy. Hopefully, today’s even warmer temps will take care of it.

      Stay safe, Donnamae.

very sad news about tom sizemore. condolences to and prayers for his family and friends, including you.

on a cheerier note, glad if the sun and temperatures today help you skip out on shoveling snow and avoid being on ice.

agree that the shorter hair and curls suit katie very well. and your wood floors are beautiful!

hope you, don and everyone everyone else have a nice, easy day today. stay safe. looking forward to the same here.

I had read about your friend Tom passing away, Claudia. It’s always very sad to lose a friend. I’m so sorry. Katie is beautiful with her new hairdo. It really changes her appearance. Hope you and Don have a nice cozy day inside. Let Mother Nature melt the snow. Take gentle care. Hugs, Elaine

dear Claudia/Don — good idea to let Mother Nature work on snow/ice removal — yesterday we had here in my area of Ky, tremendous wind storm — 75 + wind gusts — totally unreal for us to have hurricane kind of wind — so far, 5 deaths reported with tremendous damage to trees, property, etc. with at least 400,000 have no electricity. Mr/me were very lucky, only 2 trees down but no property damage AND have electricity. do stay safe/healthy

will be praying for you all.

Claudia… on a shelf with TBR books I discovered the very first Gamadge novel by Louise Penny, from 2005. Thanks to you I knew enough to slip it out of the pile and start on it! She’s very good with language, isn’t she.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
