Because they’re so darned cute and we need to see some flowers in the midst of this frigid winter.

Thanks for all the book recommendations! I’ve already written down a few to reserve at our library.

And yes, I succumbed and ordered a puzzle. It should arrive today.

We’re going to hit a balmy 30° today! And wait for it….39° tomorrow! Should I wear shorts? A bathing suit? I’m happy to see some relief is in sight.

I am restless, I’ll admit it. I can’t always concentrate on the book I’m reading. I think about working on the dollhouse – then I don’t. I think about painting with oils, then I don’t.  Or any one of a number of projects that need to be done around the house. This will pass, of course. It always does. I keep dreaming of spring, which in reality is a long way off. Hence the photo on today’s post.

I ordered another Little Keiko doll head and it’s been sitting here for a while. (The creator of the doll had a few left in stock so I grabbed one.) But I can’t paint the face yet. The weather has to be warmer so I can spray the face with a seal coat and let it dry for a period of time. I’m sure the spray can says it cannot be used in this kind of cold weather. And you have to spray several coats during the process. So that’s a project for sometime in the spring.

I wanted to create one more Keiko girl so that Jessie can have a sister, and to see if I can learn from the minor mistakes I made last time.

So there you are! I’m hanging in there. I have some chores to do today and that will fill up some time.

Stay safe.

Happy Saturday.

Darling picture! Love them among the flowers. I’ve had a hard time finding a book lately that I really enjoy. One I took back to the library after just a couple pages. Brrr…I can almost feel your weather… hope it starts to warm up for you.

We are promised 33 today….already at 30. Think I’ll take a short walk today.

I have a data limit in my brain these days…I can only take so much of the chaos and nonsense going on these days. So, I appreciated yesterday’s post…jotted down a couple of titles as well for future reads. The name of the game is distractions for me. And only keeping up on the news from reliable news outlets, up to a point…before my brain goes on overload. Then I quit.

The pic of the flowers and the girls reminds me that spring will come….I hope sooner than later. Glad you got a puzzle…hope it helps. Enjoy your day! ;)

Sweet picture of Lily and Wren. Hard to believe it’s been a month since Christmas. Hope this year doesn’t flash by. We need to enjoy the moment. Glad your weather is a little warmer. We are here, too. We got out yesterday to run a few errands, mostly groceries. I’m having trouble finding the frozen apple juice for Don’s pie. I used the last one we had in the freezer. I’ll keep looking for it. Enjoy your weekend. You’ll get your mojo back. Hugs, Elaine

How nice to see the girls among the flowers! Very cheering.

We got up to 36 today and it felt balmy, the dog and I went out and collected blown down sticks to go in the stick compost pile. Every little bit helps, right?

I’ve beenthe same with painting. Yesterday I decided I’d bring out the watercolor markers (small, compact, less messy, no water required if I just use as markers). I figured I can leave those out and if they are out, maybe I will actually get with the program and use them! Part of it is that it feels like there is so much to do around the house — organizing, purging, cleaning — that I am feeling guilty to do something “fun” like just sit and watch a movie or read a book during the day. Where in the world did that “ethic” come from?!

I’m glad your puzzle is en route!

Sweet Lily and Wren. Good luck painting your next face, the other was outstanding! I just watched your video of a few days ago. Your collections are awesome. It’s been not all that cold – but I think it’s coming.
My dad is worn out and wants to die in his sleep. Mom died on Family Day (quite fitting for her) two years ago. It’s coming up in Feb. I think my dad is just so lonely. It must be hard to be old. I found him a lovely book of old Dutch paintings.

My dad hung on for 18 months after my mom died. He missed her terribly.

      Stay safe, Irene.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
