Saturday Morning

January 5, 2019 at 11:37 am by Claudia

Feeling crappy in the morning and better in the afternoon. And then a bit crappy again in the evening. That’s generally the way these things go, isn’t it?

This morning I spent far too much time trying to ‘verify’ my professional identity with Google. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but sometimes when you google people a thing called a ‘knowledge panel’ comes up. Don has one. If I look under my name and voice coach, I have one. (Frankly, I’m surprised that I have one at all. Don having one makes sense.)

Anyway, he discovered that his knowledge panel had a photo of someone else. And that someone else was not a nice person. So he asked Google to remove it and they did. Then he went through this process of verifying who he is because he’s in the public eye and he wanted to make sure the information is accurate. An annoyingly long process that we finally figured out the other morning. That led me to trying to verify mine this morning. God knows if it will work. With Google, you feel like you’re just sending info out into the ether, all the time wondering if anyone is reading it. Or cares. Fingers crossed.

When I finished, I told Don that I didn’t even know why I went through that since I didn’t even know that there was a knowledge panel on me a week ago and ignorance is bliss.

Oy.

We watched the movie Bird Box last night on Netflix. It stars Sandra Bullock. It’s a scary movie and I was a tense mess throughout. But, boy, was it good! Beautifully done. Bullock is excellent. If you don’t mind scary movies, you should watch it. I recommend it highly!

But maybe don’t watch it right before you are going to go to bed, like I did. It took me a while to wind down!

It’s raining here today. Looks like it will be all day long.

Depending on how I feel, I might start in on the office closet.

Happy Saturday.

I hate the unproductive days when I’m trying to recover from an illness. I want to use the time to do the things I can’t do when I’m rushing around, but my mind is always as sluggish as the rest of me. Feel better soon and just go with it as much as you can!

I honestly don’t know if I have enough courage to watch Bird Box. I usually shy away from thrillers…I was once very traumatized by Psycho. I wouldn’t take a shower if I was home alone at night for years…lol!

Sounds like you have to take advantage of afternoon energy spurts…or not.
Perhaps another day of rest would do you good! The sun is shining today…and temps in the 40’s will melt what little snow we had. It’s certainly been an unusual winter so far. Enjoy your day! ;)

I’m too chicken to watch that movie no matter how good it may be. I’ll recommend it to my husband and he can watch it while I go upstairs and rewatch “Sense and Sensibility” or something else more my speed.

Sounds like you need to rest up and take care of yourself. I hear there’s lots of sickness going around on the campus where I used to work. And the students are still off for semester break, so that’s even scarier that it’s happening. Anyway, the secret, I think, is to keep away from groups this time of year. Take care.

Hard for me to stay away from groups when I’m coaching, but – at least for now – I can stay home.

I’m still sitting on the couch and reading and checking blogs. No energy but that tells me I need to rest. I got the rest of Christmas packed up and only a bit more to put in the storage room aka laundry room. Small home with little storage but I’m lucky I have that much space. Worked on my planner today and I think I’m going to like it. I’m hoping to use it to set goals, journal and also keep track of appts and all the other stuff going on in my life. I think I’ll watch that Sandra Bullock movie this afternoon and not right before bed. I watched Roma and it was stunning. Of course maybe I need a nap first. Hugs!

I totally understand the ‘little storage’ issue!

Roma is simply one of the best movies I’ve ever seen!

Claudia, I don’t like scary movies, so will pass on Bird Box. However, I’m going to see Mary Poppins Returns tonight…more my speed! It’s cold (though not as cold as where you are) and wet-ish, not making its mind whether to rain or not, so it does so in spurts. And very very windy…I opened the car door in the parking lot at the bank and I’m so glad there wasn’t a car next to me. The wind caught my partially opened door and blew it wide open. I didn’t get my morning coffee. We went to breakfast, where the food is delicious but the coffee is just so-so. I’m going to make a cup now and warm up!

You see them whenever you google a company or well-known person. On a personal computer, they’re on the right in the search results. On a mobile phone, they’re in a box at the top of the search results.

I’ve been on the fence trying to decide if I wanted to watch Bird Box or not. I was going to pass but your review is tempting. So, I guess I’m going back to the fence. hah!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
