ell, I changed my mind. I did mulch yesterday, though I have more to do today. The largest garden bed and two others are done – ย just 4 more to go. It was a beautiful day here in the Northeast, breezy, sunny and warm. Besides mulching, I’ll do some mowing today and then I have to go into Manhattan on Friday. It turns out I am leaving for Hartford on Sunday morning. As always, my friends, I will share my time on the road with you via daily posts.
In the midst of mulching the bed, I took a shot with the iPhone. Lots of sedum and catmint, day lilies, black-eyed susan and phlox are emerging from the ground. I really love having a perennial garden and most of these plants are well established by now. Sometimes, I’ll add an annual or two, but for the most part, these are all perennials.
The wiegela bush is in full bloom. I love seeing these orange-red blossoms on the far side of the front yard. The wiegela and the hyacinth are the first things to bloom. The daffodils will be right behind them.
Speaking of beauties…
That’s my girl.
I now have photos from three lovely ladies: Jennifer, Debby and Patti. Thank you! Keep them coming, please! ย Remember:
Happy Thursday.

I wish I were to the point where I could mulch here. I have to get a whole bed moved yet this Spring. We are still having freezing temps at night though. Everything is looking pretty Spring-y at your home as you prepare for your time away! xo Diana

I find mulching to be so exhausting, but it makes everything look so good though. By the way, that reddish-flowering shrub, could it be a Japanese quince, not a weigelia?
I’ve never commented on your blog before because I read it in Reader and usually, if I go to the real blog, I can’t read anything. But today I could! I guess today was my lucky day.

Looks great. And I also love the photo of you! Love the scarf too. I have been working so hard on my yards that I literally ache all over. Not good.
Better take it easy today.
Have a good one.

Perennials are fabulous and save money in the long run. I started a garden journal, finally, because I forget what I do from year to year.

Isn’t it wonderful watching the garden come alive, Claudia? My catmint is up, too, and the neighborhood kitties have already come by. Enjoy this beautiful spring!
