Claudia’s prescription for life on the road:

• Bring your camera along

• Make sure you have some creative projects to work on; a Maggie Rabbit, a quilt top and a future coaching project

• Bring along your pals; in my case, Wayfrum, Maggie Rabbit, Little Lamb and Mabel

• Fresh flowers are an essential

The quilt top is finished. Photos tomorrow.

We have three preview performances under our belt. At this point in the process, I watch every performance leading up to opening night and take notes, which I then pass along to the actors. Even though the play is now in performance, there are still rehearsals where technical problems are fixed and changes are made – this will go on until opening night.

Which is Friday.

That means I go home on Saturday. (Insert smile.)

Next week at this time, I will be once again writing from my blogging chair with my Scoutie by my side.

Happy Sunday.

I really do love the new quilt. It’s something I would make if I were a quilter, which I am NOT and never will be. Good luck with the play and getting back to your man and child, Mama!

Knitting, my Kindle Fire and snacks have been my companions on the road. You are sooo good! No snacks! You have inspired me to return to quilting. I have always machine pieced, hand quilted baby and lap quilts.. However, simple quilt blocks, hand pieced, for future grandchildren (I have a newly married son) would be a lovely project for my fairly frequent road trips! Oh…..and thanks for fixing my link!

Are you kidding? I just neglected to mention the snacks, Jeannie Marie! I have a big old sweet tooth.

Good morning Claudia, hope you have lovely weather today, we do. I am so happy that you can do what you love but it is too bad it takes both of you away so much. I’ll bet you, Don and Scout cannot wait until you are all together again. Just another week and you’ll be dancing in the kitchen while Don cooks dinner.

    hugs

I guess that is how I would make it through if I had to be away from home that long..by surrounding myself with things from home that I love..and things to do..Great advice Claudia..So glad that you will soon be home!!

I’m like you…I have to pack essentials even if we’re just staying overnight. My camera is a must now a days.
I know you’re ready to be back with your family.
and. OH yes! “Twelfth Night”– thanks for that refresher!
I also wanted to say Claudia– I envy your hair…it is so beautiful.
I’m in between– I still have some red and brown…but I wish it would all just go grey.

…love all the projects and company you have there at the apartment. can’t wait to see the quilt complete.
    Enjoy your day, Pat

She does. She’s not eating right lately. I think her routine has been upset. I’m hoping everything settles down when I get back home.

This is such a great “sanity” list! I really enjoy reading how you turn your hotel room into a home away from home. It is important to make the best of your situation when you can!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
