Amidst the whirlwind that is Scout when presents are involved, Don took these photos with my iPhone.
Eyes on the treats inside of that new water bowl. Bowl = boring. Treats = OMG!
She can’t contain her excitement. (She has a new collar. Pink with hearts. And a matching leash.)
The whole thing was exhausting. I mean, all those presents and treats and mom and dad singing and dancing?
It’s almost too much for a girl!
I hope you had a wonderful day. We sure did. We took the day at our own pace, drank some coffee, ate a leisurely breakfast, opened presents, played around with said presents, took a walk in the very cold afternoon, Β drank some hot chocolate, made a wonderful dinner, slow danced, and then topped it all off with Top Hat on TCM. Fred Astaire has long been my favorite dancer/actor/singer (I think I just might know everything there is to know about him) so that particular movie was the icing on a wonderful Christmas cake of a day.
Today will be slow-paced, full of books and reading and coffee and hot chocolate and leftovers and that pleasant relaxed feeling that comes after a lovely holiday. We are blessed.
How was your Christmas?
Happy Thursday.

Scout you make me smile! It is exciting isn’t it! I had a wonderful morning watching Tiger enjoy his gifts and spending time with my family. Coffee, cinnamon rolls and then a family dinner! Back home with Charlie he ‘smelled’ his treats in his stocking and tried his best to pull them out by himself, mama finally had to help him and he meow-ed with JOY! I will have Tiger photos up soon as he loved Christmas so much this year! Today I’m wrapping a few presents for friends I will see this weekend. So still a little Christmas left for me yet! Enjoy your day!
hugs,
Linda

Debby Messner says
So glad that you enjoyed the snow that I sent you, he he.
Scouty sure had a fun Christmas. I bet she enjoyed the walk as well.
I am home alone for the first time in a zillion days. Hubby back to work and the grands home with their parents. Or daughter and her two children arrive in a couple of days from Colorado. I need to get things nailed down before the tornado arrives. We love him but oh my.
Have a great rest of the holiday.

Yes, thank you for the snow, Debby! Sounds like you have been having a wonderful, but busy, time!

You.had.a.white.Christmas! Scout sure looks like she had a blast! So glad your Christmas was all that and more! We had a wonderful Christmas with two of our sons. There were presents…the annual pickle hunt in the tree…a visit to see my mom…a Skype visit with my third son and his wife…and then Christmas dinner…and lots of Christmas movies in between! It was a lovely day. It snowed…and is still snowing! Enjoy your quiet Thursday! ;)

Scout looks over the moon with her Christmas morning, what a lucky girl. Looks like a wonderful Christmas at the cottage. We had a lovely Christmas morning, watche Christmas in Conneticutt while opening gifts and drinking Eggnog Coffee. Went to our beautiful sons for dinner, which I cooked, and it was a truly blessed day even though the babies and their mommie have colds. I am also reading my books today and watching some old movies. Have a great day Claudia, Don and of course, Scout!
Claudia says
Love Christmas in Connecticut! Sounds like you had a wonderful day, Sue!
LuvWheaties says
Oh, you had a white Christmas after all! I spent the day in San Diego, in 80 degree weather. It was a lovely day, seeing the wonderment of Christmas through the eyes of three incredibly sweet toddlers. Love that Scout got a new pink collar. She is definitely a pink girl!
Claudia says
Nothing like seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child, my friend!
SueZK says
Sounds like a great day all in all. I think I enjoy the day after Christmas more than before or day of. It’s far more relaxed and I have the pleasant memories to sit quietly and enjoy. Sounds like you , Don and Scout had the perfect Christmas day :)

We did. It was lovely. You have a point about the day after Christmas, time to relax, read a bit or watch movies. Just be.
Kelly says
Hi Claudia, Christmas here was kinda laid-back this year, what with the necessity of becoming a germaphobic and no desire to see or be seen in public with a mask. The kids and grand-kids were here Sunday so they could do thee big family thing on Christmas day. Hubby has a large family who stretch the seams of either his Mom’s or his Aunt’s house as they gather for the grand pig-out of which he does not approve, even more so that they are getting older and have their share of health issues. I think the reality of the situation is that neither wants to be the first to give it up. So we think that we need to be the quitters.
BTW, I love the jammies!
Claudia says
Thanks, Kelly. Thinking of you this holiday season.

What a happy girl Scout is..and she looks so pretty in pink doesn’t she?..It certainly does feel good to sit down, relax and be lazy today..
Claudia says
It sure does!
Janet in Rochester says
Sounds like you had a great day too. My family does presents and a massive buffet on Christmas Eve so those with in-laws can do the next day with their “other families.” The un-in-lawed among us then have a very quiet Christmas Day. At my house this means a big [unhealthy] breakfast and a pot of very good coffee. Then books and movies on the sofa with flannel blankets. Once it starts to get dark, no lights allowed except candles and twinkle lights. Then yummy reheated leftovers and an entire bottle of Prosecco. Next to coffee, just about the world’s best beverage. Hope Scoutie got everything on her list!
Claudia says
I love your ‘no lights allowed but twinkle lights’ – perfect!
Trudy Mintun says
Claudia you got your wish! I am so glad for you.Scout looks so excited. Just like a kid.
We had a snowy day also. I had a wonderful Christmas. My 90 year old aunt was here with my cousin. My son came for a while, but he lives 2 hours away and the driving conditions were rapidly deteriorating so he left very early in the day. I felt blessed to be surrounded by all who I love. I finished the quilt I was making for my aunt, and we all got a little teary when she could point to each piece and remember whose shirt it has been.
Claudia says
I’m so glad you had a wonderful Christmas, Trudy! Congratulations on finishing the quilt!
