We’ve been very busy around here lately. I’ve been traveling back and forth to Manhattan on a theater coaching job. My husband has been on the road performing. All well and good of course, as we love our work, but all of that activity means we’ve barely seen each other.
Life goes by rather quickly, especially when we’re busy. And when that happens, it helps to find a pocket of time in which to stop, sit down, share some conversation and in our case, something sweet. A sweet moment in time, made all the sweeter by Marie Callender’s Frozen Desserts.
Oh, yes, indeed.
We made a trip to our local grocery store and brought this beauty home with us:
Marie Callender’s Frozen Pies are simply scrumptious, with a homemade quality that makes them irresistible. The Chocolate Satin Pie has a rich chocolate filling, a made-from-scratch chocolate cookie crust, and it’s topped with real chocolate curls.
Hello there! I’m here to tell you that this pie is unbelievably good. Oh my goodness! If you’re a chocolate lover, as we are, you will think you’ve died and gone to heaven.
It’s so beautiful I almost couldn’t cut into it. But somehow I managed, and if the sighs of happiness coming out of my husband’s mouth were any indication, this has become his favorite pie.
I managed to take a photo before it was devoured by two chocolate lovers who needed a quiet and sweet moment together. That would be my husband and me.
We got it, that’s for sure.
Marie Callender’s also makes a Coconut Cream Pie and a Dutch Apple Pie that are equally wonderful, with made-from-scratch goodness in every bite.
It’s far too easy to fall into the trap of being busy, busy, busy. It’s far too easy to fall prey to all the demands on our time and forget to take some time to savor the moment. Whether that moment is solitary and quiet or a conversation with a dear friend or family member, one of Marie Callender’s frozen desserts will make it even sweeter.
There’s one piece of the Chocolate Satin Pie left. Will we share it or will one of us grab it on the sly?
I’m hoping we’ll share it. Fingers crossed!

Athens razelberry pie is excellent! We have had it several times and it is full of berries! Will have to try the chocolate pie too.
What a YUMMY post Claudia! I love chocolate cream pie, and Marie Callender’s is a definite favorite. Thanks for doing this drawing.
My iPad is acting crazy! Not sure where the word ” Athens” came from. I give up for the time being! Ha,ha!
I love chocolate and this pie looks amazing. I would love to share a sweet moment with my daughter (who also loves chocolate) and catch up on our busy lives. Thanks for sharing this sweepstakes!
hugs,

I think I can squeeze this is on Black Friday after pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving … it looks delicious!
Taking some time to savor the moment feels like life saving advice to me right now Claudia! My mind has been slipping and sliding, but now hopefully not falling prey to all the demands and fears crowding in on it. (The cold Canadian winters may keep Marie Callender’s pies away from here, but they would also keep them well and ready for that delectable moment:)) Sweet moments for you Claudia,in every way!
We can share a good report card over pie.

This is one of our favorite treats!
What a delectable treat to share with Don. Lovely.
Since my three boys are actually in the same city for a couple of weeks….I can imagine a sweet moment with them, and a bite of pie! Thanks for the opportunity Claudia! ;)
We are having a houseguest for the entire month of December. The young woman who is like a daughter to us, Barbara, will make our home her own and we are so happy to have her with us. Mrs. Callenders chocolate cream pie would be a sweet treat for the three of us to share.
Yes we need to take time to savor the special moments! And now my sweet tooth is acting up lol.
I can just imagine sitting down at the twins little table and chairs and sharing this delicious chocolate pie with them and Laynee. My o my, they would have it all over their precious little faces and I would love every minute of it.
Thanks for the chance.

Our family celebrated my husband’s birthday with a Marie Callenders Lemon Meringue Pie. It’s his favorite flavor of pie. He prefers pie over cake. The meringue held the candles fine. We love all her pies.
Sounds like an ad that should be on Garrison Keillor….

I would share a sweet moment with my husband (of 42 years), upon his return from his visit to his oncologist. It would definitely cheer us both!

I would love to share a pie over a new job offer, birthdays and holidays! I am a huge fan of the Dutch Apple pie!
What a beautiful pie! Chocolate is definitely my favorite and Marie Callender’s makes a piecrust that is like homemade. This needs to be added to our Thanksgiving desserts!
Your review inspired me to put the Chocolate Satin Pie on my shopping list for this week.
When my 7 year old granddaughter comes for the day, we always have a mid-afternoon tea party with sweet delectables. This pie would be perfect for our teatime together!!
Marie’s pies are so good. Thanks to your post, I think I’ll forego the traditional pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving and get Marie’s frozen apple (I’m doing some pre-holiday food shopping tomorrow, so I’m glad this came up). I love the fruit pies the best (OMG, the Marie strawberry, in season, at the restaurants!!) although, when younger, her dine-in lemon meringue was the fave. I’ve enjoyed eating at Marie’s for 40 years, loving the veggie soup and mile-high cornbread.
In The Great Depression, my grandmother made a pie out of crackers that Dad said tasted just like apple pie yet it didn’t have one apple in it. In Southern California, you see a lot of citrus but not so much the apple tree, so I’m sure apples might have been expensive to buy and, of course, a lot of people had little to no money. Like all good home cooks, Grandma made do with what she had and somehow concocted the appleless apple pie! It probably wasn’t a recipe exclusive to her but, my parents told me, she could make a pie out of anything although, curiously, she couldn’t bake a decent cookie to save her life.
I was far away from home today, from 7am to 7pm, but was treated to a most spectacular, sunny, cool, clear, SoCal coastal day in my travels. The beach was whipped with northeast winds, churning the sea into a gorgeous teal blue/green with lots of white caps and big waves. GORGEOUS day to be alive (sailed through another post-cancer checkup!).
That looks so yummy!
Does anyone know if and where you can buy one in Canada?
This luscious pie may be just what my husband and I need to share with my daughter’s family to celebrate their new home when they close in December. Thanks for sharing!
Susan
One sweet moment I like to share over pie is a talk with my best friends.
I envision playing a game with my hubby, savoring a piece of pie!
I like when my mother-in-law comes over in the afternoon and we have some time to ourselves. We have coffee and sweets. this pie would be perfect, and then I could save the rest for my husband (who can eat half of a pie in one sitting and not gain an ounce of fat – no one knows how he does this).
I posted a tweet too: https://twitter.com/AnnaZed/status/666766224362070016

We love sharing pies after family and friends gathering, every single time! We rather spend more time chatting and laughing than laboring in the kitchen when it comes to parties with a big crowd. these pies are perfect.

Thank you for the opportunity on a giveaway chance.
We share how our day went over pie. It is nice to sit and enjoy dessert and catch up with my husband and daughter.
I miss the Marie Callender’s restaurant that used to be in my area. But these pies are really good, just like the ones I used to order there.
Chocolate pie ! What’s not to like about that ?!
How yummy these pies look for the holidays!!!
Love those pies
We had the Marie Callender’s pecan pie for Thansgiving. It was delicious and we will definitely be buying it again.
As I get older, I realize that the everyday moments can be the sweetest. I love sitting at the kitchen table, sharing a lovely dessert with my spouse. No special reason, just a special dessert.
