Short and (Hopefully) Sweet

February 19, 2023 at 9:03 am by Claudia

In the works.

This is based on a Japanese print and it’s quite lovely. As I said yesterday, I’m working from the inside out this time. I truly love doing these puzzles. They quiet my mind. And that, my friends, is everything these days.

Our friend Adrian thought he was going to be able to go home for a while, but complications with a medication that is no longer working necessitate that he stay. His heart is failing and the doctors want him there in the hospital where they can monitor him. He was very disappointed. He misses the beach, which brings him peace. He misses his dog. He misses his house. His beloved wife is there with him as much as she can be. She is a rock.

So he most likely moves up on the transplant list.

We finished a series called High Water, based on a deadly flood in Poland that occurred in the late 90s. Beautifully done. It’s on Netflix, by the way. Tonight, we watch the season ender for All Creatures Great and Small  on PBS.

Well…it’s been five minutes since I wrote that last sentence, and I have absolutely nothing more to say! So, let’s make this post short and sweet.

Stay safe.

Happy Sunday.

Claudia, that does look like a beautiful puzzle! It’s nice to have something that helps center you, as well as being artistic.

So sorry your friend has had a set back… it’s hard.

Thanks for the recommendation for High Water. There are so many things to watch but most don’t interest me.

    Sorry about your friend.

    Enjoy the puzzle.

sorry that adrian’s had a setback. will keep praying for him and his family. would be nice if there would be a place they could let him spend time with his dog, too.

puzzle looks beautiful … and difficult. have fun!

glad you found some more shows to enjoy. for not having cable, weekend tv for me is very limited … mostly sports … so i skip it and try to get ahead on chores and gift-making. and water the plants i didn’t get to yesterday.

happy, easy and safe sunday to everyone.

We don’t watch network tv at all. But we do take advantage of the many incredibly well done series from other countries that are being streamed on Netflix and Amazon Prime. They enrich our lives.

      Stay safe, Sabina.

That looks like a very difficult puzzle with so many of the same color! You’re doing a great job on that. Sorry about your friend and hope he gets a heart soon.
I love All Creatures Great and Small and am looking forward to the show tonight…
    Stay safe, Claudia!

So sorry about your friend Adrian. A new Partner of my longtime widowed friend is facing the spread of the lymphoma that they believed had been cured just a few months ago. Each day the news seems worse and worse. It’s good that you can stay in touch. On another subject, I love Don’s new song. May you be well

So sorry to hear of the setback for your friend. It is so hard. I hope he gets moved up on the transplant list. I am lucky that I am only 6 blocks from home and hubs visits 2 or 3 times a day and brings the dog over at least every other day.

So looking forward to ACG&S tonight!!!! Take care.

Chris, I’m so glad your dog can visit! I really think that visits with our Emma did wonders for Fred when he was in rehab. I know that visits with my baby Calder helped me when I was in hospital many years ago. Best medicine ever. Be well.

Yes, it is a very dog-friendly facility and those visits definitely do make a difference!! I am so thankful for all I have gained through my stay here, but, oh-so-ready to be going home!

Having a “mixed bag” of a day today too. Some sad news about a relative and some good news about my grandson….. I have had to play cheerleader to my spouse who is dealing with limitations due to an injury he aquired while trying to play a sport he had no business attempting. I had a long conversation with a friend who is contemplating a move from her home to a small condo…asking me advice NOW after the fact. I wish I could summon up the energy to do a puzzle or any thing. Today my glass is half empty. Thanks for listening.

I read on twitter yesterday that a new CB Strike manuscript has been finished by JKR/RG. Can’t wait. No idea how long it will take to become a book and be released. Meanwhile, we’ll enjoy the latest HBO version of Troubled Blood. I’m so taken with these actors that I don’t even try to imagine other versions of Strike and Robin.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
