Not a whole lot of snow on the ground and what’s there is heavy and wet. It’s currently still snowing, so we might get a half inch more this morning. That being said, what worries me is the nor’easter that is being forecast for Monday into Tuesday. That could come with 8 or 9 inches of snow. I know I said yesterday that I was fine with some snow, but a nor’easter is an entirely different animal. High winds, dangerous, and lots of heavy wet snow on the trees and plants. I’m praying that particular forecast changes, though our crack local weather guys seem to think it’s going to happen. I’d love to see it move east and head out to the ocean.
Fortunately, we have a freshly baked apple pie which should take us through Tuesday. Fingers crossed.
I’m nearing the end of the A Killing of Innocents by Deborah Crombie. As always with Crombie, the book is excellent. Then I’ll start Shrines of Gaiety by Kate Atkinson, another favorite author.
And this sucker is almost finished:
I have to fit in all the border pieces on each side. I’ve already begun. It’s pretty tedious.
We finished watching Season 4 of Unforgotten. We were completely shocked at the ending. I can’t stop thinking about it this morning. Season 5 is airing in Great Britain, according to Dee Dee. I know it will be a while until it airs here and I’ll need it to recover from the end of this season! If you had been here, you would have heard gasps from both of us.
Have a great Saturday.
Stay safe.

That puzzle is very pretty! Quite an accomplishment, especially with that intricate border. The Nor’easter does sound ominous, hope it finds it’s way to sea quickly. It’s so scary seeing what the snow and rain has done in California! Enjoy your apple pie…and stay warm and safe!
Claudia says
Thank you Barrie!
Stay safe.
kathy in iowa says
hope you can avoid this and all nor’easters, that they do move quickly out to sea and trouble no one. glad you can enjoy apple pie and the satisfaction of looking at your most recent projects. also togetherness with your sweetheart, books and finishing that puzzle.
picked up some yarn last night and have plenty of books and chores here so can stay busy if we get several inches of snow this afternoon (as predicted) … or maybe i’ll just enjoy sitting by a window and watching it fall and coat the trees and ground.
happy, safe saturday to everyone.
kathy
oh … and tonight we turn clocks ahead one hour, don’t we?!?
Claudia says
Yes. This particular time change always throws me. Takes me a while to adjust.
Stay safe, Kathy.

Women Talking is free on Prime this weekend if you haven’t seen it.
Claudia says
Thank you, Margaret.

Ah yes…the snow. We got 8 inches of heavy wet snow…and then I got a huge surprise. I heard snowblowers, and lo and behold, our new neighbors were busy clearing the sidewalks and driveway for us. They had seen my husband with crutches, so they knew something was up. Bless them! We are to get more snow too later today into tomorrow…2-5? I’ve had enough. I know you really wanted spring to come…sorry you are getting blasted. I feel for those people in California who are either dealing with feet of snow…..or torrential rains and flooding. The climate is in turmoil.
The ending to season 4 of Unforgotten was indeed a surprise. Looking forward to seeing season 5. If you want to see more of Nicola Walker, I suggest you watch Annika. She’s excellent as usual, as is the rest of the cast with interesting storylines as well. It debuted last year on PBS, and there will be a season 2.
Enjoy your apple pie! ;)
Claudia says
How lovely of your neighbors!
We have Annika on our list now. Thanks for letting me know.
We have been big Nicola Walker fans for several years.
Stay safe, Donnamae.

“Unforgotten” had a shocking and sad ending. It was one of the best TV shows I have watched. I also like “Vera” the books which it is based on are also very good.
Take Care,
Kaye
Claudia says
Unbelievably shocking! I’m glad I hadn’t read anything about it, Kaye. So I was truly surprised.
Stay safe!
Terri says
Omg! I was so, so surprised by the ending of “Unforgotten.” It actually bothered me for days. Nicola Walker is one of the best actresses around.
Claudia says
We are hugs fans of Walker. Her work is impeccably done.
Stay safe, Terri.
Dee+Dee says
Glad you have caught up with Unforgotten now. I was so wary of saying anything about it as I didn’t want to spoil it for yourself and Don. Everyone here was in complete shock too.
There’s was much talk about how can the show carry on without Nicola Walker? Would there be another series? Would Sonny now be in charge?
Suffice to say, the writers have thought of a brilliant solution! Series 5 is shaping up to be just as good as the others.
Hope everyone is safe from the snow.
Claudia says
Thank you, Dee Dee. We appreciate it.
It’s very reassuring to hear Season 5 is just as good.
Stay safe.
jeanie says
Oh, Unforgotten 4. I need to watch it again. It was a tough ending. Season 5 will air on PBS this summer on Masterpiece. Sunny has a new boss — and she’s younger than he is.
They say we’ll get an inch or so tomorrow. Then 40s for two weeks.
Claudia says
We are going to get more than an inch, that’s for sure. Today’s snow has completely melted.
Stay safe, Jeanie.

Read C and A books on Netgalley
I really liked your puzzle. I enjoyed Don’s video at the Old Globe and Shakespeare.
My students loved hurling insults from S. Have a good good day. I won’t tell you I have finished four of my six walks, painfully, today in gorgeous weather.
Claudia says
Not sure what C and A are? Am I missing something?
Thanks, Brenda.
Stay safe!
Elaine in Toronto says
“Unforgotten” is an excellent series as is “Anika”. Looking forward to the new seasons of both. I hope you don’t get that storm – snow is one thing, blizzard conditions and high winds is a whole different ball game. You’re on the home stretch with your puzzle. Stay safe and warm. I’ve made Don’s apple pie twice and apple crisp once. Can’t seem to get enough. Must get some more Granny Smith apples. I only have 3 left. Hugs, Elaine
Claudia says
Yes! Get some more apples!
Stay safe, Elaine.
Brendab says
Crumble and Atkinson books you are reading lol
Sorry pain today
kathy in iowa says
sorry that you have pain. hope and praying that you feel better soon.
kathy
Claudia says
Feel better, Brenda. xo
Jen says
Yes, that was a tragic ending for Unforgotten. Annika is a bit different because Nicola Walker’s character has asides with the audience. Hope you do okay with the upcoming storm, take care, Jen
Claudia says
Thanks so much Jen.
Stay safe.
Tana says
Got my fingers crossed that the nor’easter will miss you!
Claudia says
It looks like it won’t miss us, Tana.
Stay safe.
