Snow is falling as I write this. I suspect we’ll have a couple of inches of new snow on the ground – not all that much when compared to what’s happening on the coast. The winds are going to be an issue and the wind chill will plunge temps to below zero, but as for the actual snowfall, it’s not a big deal. I’m thinking of those of you in the path of this storm and sending prayers for your safety. Stay inside. Stay warm. And I hope your power stays on.
We watched an old Hitchcock movie last night, though I missed about half of it because I fell asleep. That’s what happens when you wake up at 4:15 am. I’m glad to say I caught up on my sleep and feel much more rested today.
Yesterday’s session was devoted to the bride and her gown. It was quite complicated, but ultimately satisfying. Now for the dreaded ever-so-slightly different shades of blue.
Oh boy.
In cases like this, I often resort to looking at shapes, though I do know that the darkest shade of blue is at the top of the puzzle. There are a few butterfly bits to add here and there, as well.
Stay safe, my friends.
Happy Saturday.

Your puzzle is beautiful. Can’t wait to see if once it’s completed!
Sounds like a nasty storm is going to hit the East Coast. Watching for our friends who live in the Maritimes. Stay warm. Stay safe.

Did you know in Canada, it’s “National Puzzle Day?” I may have to start a puzzle that I was given but haven’t opened yet ….

Yay for National Puzzle Day! Yes, open that puzzle, Chy!

We’re okay. Very windy but only about 3 inches of snow. It’s much worse on the coast.
Thanks so much Chy.
Stay safe.

You’re rocking that puzzle. The snow looks lovely and I’m hopeful that the winds don’t take down any trees or cause a power loss. It looks like it could be a little sticky up in your neck of the woods, so take extra care. Glad you are both bundled in and with loads of fun things to enjoy while snowbound!
Claudia says
We’re fine- It’s very cold and the wind chills are below zero, but we only got about 3 inches. We’re inland, so we are faring better than those closer to the coast.
Stay safe, Jeanie.

Hi. Claudia. Love that puzzle. It is very much my style but then again, I’ve loved all the puzzles you’ve done. We just completed a 2000-piece puzzle on Disney villains. My daughter is a big fan (don’t know why…).
I get to the point where I’m looking for shapes too. I call the convex edges of pieces “ears” and the concave edges “hugs”. I’m shouting “I need four hugs” and aforementioned daughter would rush over to give me four loving squeezes. Then, she’ll infuriate me by picking up a piece seemingly at random and find the exact spot for it.
Claudia says
Isn’t that maddening?
I’ve been finishing off the butterflies and then tomorrow, on to the BLUE.
Stay safe, Wendy.

Beautiful puzzle! I’ve been working on a puzzle that doesn’t have a straight edge border, it was hard to know where to start. I wanted to let you know my grandson, Gordon, has recovered from Covid. ( I mentioned him in a previous comment) He was vaccinated and only had a 102 fever for 2 days and is getting over fatigue. We are so relieved! Take care, Claudia
Claudia says
Oh, thank you for the update, Jen. Such wonderful news! What a sigh of relief for you and your family.
Stay safe.

just shoveled about 15 inches – wind chill is awful, had to do it in bits and still haven’t tackled the driveway. We’re not going anywhere, so there’s always tomorrow. (Long Island)
Claudia says
Oh boy, you really got a lot of snow! Best way to do it – in bits and pieces. Be careful and take your time!
Stay safe.

Meanwhile, on the West Coast, we are closing in on a January without a scintilla of precipitation and not a cloud on the horizon for February. Shovel some of that snow our way! We can always hope for a wet Spring, but I’m dreading the fire season already. At least I have a stash of N95s to wear outside when the air is wretchedly hazardous.
Speaking of masks, we are very careful when we are out and about. Our general cussedness (closing the office door and attending a meeting remotely) just paid off as five co-workers came down with covid after that in- person meeting which seems have been a little relaxed maskwise . Four of those were breakthrough cases and some carried their virus to their families. We’ll pass on the possibility of long covid and the law of unforeseen consequences.
So, stay safe, warm and cozy. I like your latest puzzle–must be those butterflies and the promise of a change of seasons!
Claudia says
I so hope you get a wet spring, Roxie!
We are very careful about masks, as well. I still see people out there without them. What are they thinking? Or not thinking?
Stay safe.
