:: Thank you friends for all the wonderful comments about Studios magazine. I promise to share more when we get closer to February 22nd. Honestly, when I look at all the other studios in the magazine, my hallway/landing space looks very teeny. Who am I kidding? It is! Even so, I spent a lot of time and love on it, so I am thrilled to see it in print.
:: What else is new at MHC? Not a whole lot. I’ve been away from rehearsals for a few days as the director and actors work through parts of the play. I’m returning to the city tomorrow – bright and early. I just may have to reward myself for rising at the crack of dawn with a little trip to Daytona Trimmings for some more Perle Cotton, don’t you think?
:: Remember my photo of the rainbow over MHC? Several of you suggested I enlarge it and get it framed. Well, I did and that led to enlarging another photo that I loved and suddenly we have an ‘arrangement’ above the piano.
The photo on the right is of my doggies. I was sitting in a chair in the living room and Miss Scoutie walked up to Riley and thank goodness I had my camera with me because such sweetness must be captured. The 3 photos below are of me on our wedding day. (Husband insisted I hang it there.) And the other photo is of me, sitting on this very same piano bench when I was 8 years old. I think I had just started taking piano lessons. I’m holding my little sister – the one who hasn’t visited my parents in 9 years and no longer speaks to me or my sister Meredith. That’s a whole other story and one that makes me angry and sad, so I’ll move on.
:: As in a game of musical chairs, the living room chairs have all moved one position clockwise.
You can’t see it because, of course, I never photograph it, but there is a boot tray just to the left and behind the red chair. Since we don’t have a separate entryway or mud room, we have to shed our shoes and boots just inside the side door. Not very attractive. Since this weather is so messy, we are often flinging bits of salt and ice off our boots and jackets. The yellow chair is the only chair that we bought new and I became nervous about it getting dirty – maybe because it was getting dirty. A little change is good, right?
:: The view through our windshield as we drove northward on Sunday. We had a little pre-Valentine’s Day brunch while listening to the beautiful songs of some friends of ours. Do you see the darker clouds low on the horizon? Right below them you can just make out the Catskill Mountains.
:: Today is very cold, but Don was talking to a local guy who said it is supposed to get milder next week and that we might have a milder than normal February and March.
I’m crossing my fingers.

Good Morning Claudia Sweetie…
A beautiful share as always. I love stepping into Mockingbird Hill Cottage with you each visit.
I love the rainbow photo, matted and framed, along with your doggies, how beautiful it is. I also love your wedding day photo and the one of you as a child sitting on the piano bench. Memories, aren’t they beautiful to pull from when we want to? Read them again and again?
I love seeing you living room area. It is so welcoming. I can just hear the laughter and chatter behind those doors. Thank you sweet friend for sharing.
Hope you have a lovely trip into the city. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Working on the play sounds exciting. Your pictures are lovely; in my experience people who have pictures of their dogs around the house are always nice.

Very cold this week here as well, and barely above freezing at almost 2 in the afternoon. The photos look wonderful above the piano.. sort of an ethereal quality about them that I like very much.

Love your photos.
We’ve had 10 inches of snow here in our part of Kansas. We aren’t used to that! Our daughter in Oklahoma has had 14 inches of snow on top of the 20 they had last week. They are 15 miles from nowhere and haven’t had school in several days so we are in a better position than they are.
I have a brother that hasn’t had anything to do with any family member for years now. None of us know why. We’ve all tried to reach out to him. I have finally decided that it’s his loss not mine.
Enjoy your trip into the city tomorrow.

LOVE YOUR 3 PICTURES OF YOU ON YOUR WEDDING DAY. SCOUT AND RILEY MUST LOVE LOOKING AT THEMSELVES.
WHEN I LOOK AT THE PICTURE OF YOUR COTTAGE, IT FEELS LIKE IF YOU OPENED YOUR DOOR AND WALKED ONTO THE PORCH IT WOULD BE BEACH AND OCEAN, HOW NICE THAT WOULD BE. HAVE A NICE DAY. RIZZI

Wouldn’t that be marvelous?
When we were kids our parents would take us to the Catskill game farm… I have pictures of feeding the goats and sheep with baby bottles…

Oh yes, you must make a special visit for more Pearle Cotton. ♥
I’ve rearranged one side of my great room {again}. The wood stove really takes up a lot of space and the love seat made it look crowded so I created a tiny nook of sorts with just the love seat and coffee table…and then placed my sewing chair and a few other pieces on the wood stove side of the room…looks much better now.
I got so excited over you being published that I forgot to say that I’ve got EVERY issue of Cloth Paper Scissors and most of the Studio publications…I’ll watch for this newest one so I can add it to my collection. :0)
We are supposed to have milder temps next week too but right now we are waiting on the snow to arrive…looks like a few inches so that’s not so bad.
Have a wonderful day,
Stephanie ♥

Hi Claudia, your matted photos look splendid over the piano. I still find it kind of strange to upload all photos to a computer and hardly ever develop them. ♥O

Oh Claudia – Congrats on Studios!!!! What fab news:)
I love your photo wall and the black frames look great. We don’t have a booty tray, just an old cookie sheet. I’ve been looking for an in expensive one, because the tray becomes rusty.
Enjoy the rest of your week and yes treat yourself!
