Split Personality

April 13, 2010 at 12:29 pm by Claudia

My husband snapped this photo of me the other day…I had been working for hours cleaning up parts of the property. Covered in dirt, tired and seemingly missing my eyebrows, I was not a candidate for a beauty shot. Despite my husband’s assertion that I looked cute, I knew I looked just plain grubby.

I walked inside the house and found a package waiting for me. This was inside:

One of Lori’s beautiful puffs.

Besides being thrilled to receive this gorgeous, handmade, silken, feminine indulgence, I also laughed out loud. I guess that grubby girl in the photo has a pretty, frou-frou side. We all have contradictory sides to our personalities…I sure do. I think that makes us so much more interesting, don’t you?

I should have had Don take a picture of me in the grubby clothes holding the puff!

Much to do before my 7:15 AM flight on Saturday morning – I’m a bit under the weather today but I have to keep at it.

Have a wonderful day.

You do look cute. I think it is a good thing when we get out and do yardwork, fresh air, dirt under the finger nails, a closer connection to nature.
That puff is lovely. How perfect afer a day of hard work, to clean up and feel pretty with something like that.

That photo of you is so adorable!
I sometimes think I have a split personality when it comes to decorating. Sometimes I’m drawn to the bright whimsical vintage (think tablecloths) and sometimes I’m drawn to the soft, serene pastels (think frou frou). I guess life is just too short to be stuck in one style!
Take care, and good luck with your preparations!
    Hugs,
    Jill

Oh, I’ve been admiring these! You lucky girl. I think you look cute too. Like a tomboy. But I know your feminine soft side that loves doll houses and pretty McCoy pottery. We all have these “sides” that not everyone sees. And you know just what I mean. Love ya!

Nice of you to smile for the picture rather than launching your shovel at him harpoon-style . . . which is what I would have done . . . because I’m not nice.

    Lovely puff! Feel better.

I can definitely relate. I spend most of my life with paint stains on my clothes and hands mixed with glitter and fabric strings!

I think you look pretty cute.
Love that powder puff, too pretty to use.

That is a great photo! I have been caught in my pajamas in the garden. I love gardening, it feels so good to be out there cleaning things up, seeing shoots coming up and buds ready to bloom. I wish my body loved gardening as much as I do : )

I am sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather, I hope that it is nothing long lasting and that you are feeling fabulous soon. Especially before Saturday. I wish you the very best!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
