A Sunday Drive

October 27, 2009 at 7:38 am by Claudia

Sunday was such a beautiful Autumn day. My husband and I took a drive to a neighboring town and were treated to gorgeous colors at every turn. There is something about the golden light of Autumn and the changing leaves that is so glorious. I never get tired of it.

We had such a nice day ‘away.’ A nice lunch at a great restaurant, a visit to an antique store, and a walk down a country road – you can’t beat it.

The main road through our town is being re-paved and all the trucks seemed to be parked at the end of our road. So we are now being treated to the ‘beep beep beep’ of trucks backing up all day long. That sound doesn’t quite fit in with my idyllic Autumn picture. Oh well.

Have a great day.

So funny, Claudia! When the ‘beep beep beep’ of the trucks backing up starts to get to you, just close your eyes and imagine driving over a road free of pot holes!! Maybe that will take a little bit of the sting out of it! Some of the roads in our area are horrific, and I manage to always hit a pot hole or two every time I’m out and about.

Love the beautiful photos!! Glad you had a restful Sunday drive!

    Hi Claudia,
How beautiful. Where I live the seasons aren’t as defined. You don’t see many trees with turning leaves here. And I do love the oranges, reds and yellows of autumn. Your pictures are absolutely breathtaking. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a wonderful autumn day.

    Blessings,
    ♥Ana

When you hear the trucks, try and go to your happy place! Either that or go shopping! LOL!!

    Oh Claudia!
Honey thank you for sharing this beautiful perfect day. The colors are so vibrant and alive. It made me remember the artist side of Amy today. I am sure she is seeing so many beautiful things these days, she won’t sleep for months.

Thank you for your many prayers and cards and love during this difficult time. I read so many beautiful cards while I was there visiting. Each one Amy loved. She opened each one and read each one. She surely did love mail call.

God Bless you sweet friend. Country hugs and love, Sherry

Gorgeous photos Claudia and what a nice day you and your DH had. The other day on the lake it was about 5 pm. It had been cloudy all day and the sun broke through finally. The clouds were pink and with the sun shining through the pink clouds and colorful leaves the reflection in the lake was incredible. Try as I might I could not capture that particular glow in the camera’s eye. Happy Halloween. xo

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
