Sunrise, complete with jet trail.
Both of us woke up too early today. Election Day is the reason, of course. We’re excited and very nervous.
We will go and vote in about an hour and a half. Don has to chair a Zoom meeting first.
This will be brief because I haven’t a whole lot to say other than “VOTE!!!!!” I suspect most of you have already voted, but if you haven’t, get out there and make your voice heard.
Yesterday I was sitting at the table working on the puzzle and I heard a huge SWOOSH! It was so loud that I thought something bad had happened. I jumped up and went outside. The sound had come from a huge murmuration of starlings right outside our door. It was stunning. The starlings hung around our property for hours. Then they seemingly left, but an hour or so later, as I was standing in the bathroom, there they were in the secret garden. Luckily I had my phone with me so I shot some video. You can see it on my IG account, if you’re interested. Not quite as dramatic as that first swoosh, but pretty darned beautiful.
Little miracles keep me going.
I’ll announce the winner of the calendar tomorrow.
Stay safe.
Happy Tuesday.

I voted a couple of weeks ago. I felt relieved to have it done. Now I am afraid to hope for good results but I can’t help hoping anyway… Go Blue!

good luck and safety for voting!
those murmurations are incredible, aren’t they? there are lots of neat videos of them online, but it’s obviously not the same as in real life. glad you could see one on your own property.
turned in absentee ballots for some members of my family as well as my own last week. no “i voted” stickers for that (haha), but felt good to get it done.
yesterday members of my family and i saw something wonderful, too. have seen rainbows, of course, as well as snowbows, but on a dry and sunny day we saw for the first time a sunbow … huge and beautiful! pulled over (on a ride in the countryside) and took photos. :)
new roof to be completed today. very glad about that so i can put all the art back on the walls and use my garage again. and know the roof is good, especially for when it rains and with winter coming.
happy, safe tuesday and election day to everyone!

Voted early and easy

VOTE! My biggest hope is today brings some changes here in Georgia that are desperately needed as well as in many other states.

Georgia is one state I’ve continued to hear about on the news. Praying for good outcomes for you!

Loved that starling video! Nature can really take your breath away.
We voted early and by mail. Since I registered down here as an independent, both parties send me ads, which I particularly like because the red party sends a detailed promo listing all of the candidates they endorse and who they do not. I find it handy for figuring out who will not be getting my vote. I do miss the booklets we got in SF that listed every candidate and ballot issue, what was proposed, the pros and cons as determined by each party. In FL, information isn’t that easy to obtain.

Hope your voting went well and without any unpleasant incidences. Did you have to line up? You’ll be anxious to hear the results. We’ll be tuned in, for sure, on PBS. Hopefully you can enjoy the rest of your day. Hugs, Elaine

Voted early and voted Blue!
Said vote was accepted and will be counted tonight/overnight with the ballots cast today. Cautiously optimistic that Democrats will prevail and remain as the majority in Congress.
Excited and nervous describes how I’m feeling.
I’ll not watch any news reporting this evening as I cannot abide the political “pundits” and hyperbolic media reporting (more pundit yammering than news reporting these days). I’ll most likely check election results online a few times after polls have closed, but I will not remain glued to any source of news this evening.
Every now & then a murmuration of starlings occurs in the wetlands behind my home. Startling, awe-inspiring, peaceful and calming.
Stay safe & well.

I’ve voted early also…so easy to do!

I would have loved to see your murmuration. Good luck voting — I hope the lines aren’t too long when you go!

We voted a week or two ago. I never vote for the right wing idiots! Am hoping for good news tonight or tomorrow.

My heart is in my throat. I can’t bear to watch any results as I know they could easily bring me to tears. I just don’t understand how some people vote for mean people who lie every time they open their mouths.
Hubs worked the polls all day and got home totally exhausted. They had no “breaks” which, of course, is a good thing. He said they had lines occuring throughout the day. Lots of absentee ballots to count as well. The numbers in our little polling place were great…but I am afraid the rest of the state won’t follow. ugh. Hope your voting day experience was a good one! Take care.
