I took a photo of the burning bush in the afternoon sun. It went down to 28 last night and the night before, so just in case the leaves are going to drop, I wanted to get a good picture.
Don insisted on a Sunday drive yesterday and it was fabulous. We explored several areas we’d never driven through – all within about 10 miles of our house. Lots of twisty, winding mountain roads, sometimes with sheer drop offs. It was spectacular and so much fun! Just what we needed as we await the election tomorrow.
One more day. I’m sure most of you have voted at this point. Normally, we love to vote on Election Day, but this time around it seemed advisable to do what was suggested by many campaign veterans; vote early so your vote registers, and the Get Out the Vote team can devote their energies to those who have not voted yet. Lines around here have been long.- a good sign. The last day of early voting here in NY was Sunday. Now, we take a hopeful breath and wait.
I imagine I’ll be doing what I usually do when stressed: cleaning. Perhaps even the dreaded bathroom.
Later this morning, I’ll take all the plants back outside. The nighttime temperatures should remain above freezing until at least November 16th, so I can have pretty flowers on my porch for a while longer. No rain in sight until the 14th. I cannot tell you how dry it is here. Unbelievable. The rivers are barely there in some places. As most people around here have wells, I’d like some rain please.
I posted this in honor of Flat Lay Sunday. Yesterday’s theme was Pets.
Maybe this will bring a smile to your face on this Election Eve.
Don will tell you that I have been predicting Kamala Harris will win for a few months now. I stand by that.
We’re not going back.
Sending you all lots of love and positive thoughts today and tomorrow.
We are NOT going back.
Stay safe.
Happy Monday.
Ellen D. says
I’m glad it is almost over and hope it will be a landslide that can be settled quickly for Harris/Walz. I hope the Senate and House goes to Democrats so things can finally get done.
Here’s hoping, Claudia.
Claudia says
Fingers crossed and lots of prayers to the Universe.
Stay safe, Ellen.

My thoughts exactly Ellen!! Spot on!! ;)

love the burning bush/photo, ella (my favorite of your blythes because she reminds me of my maternal grandmother), cute pets on that very pretty rug, the new-to-you ride, hope …
a couple quick errands today, will take rides, spend more time with family members, pray and do some stress-cleaning here, too, and nervously wait for election results. at least the day is almost here and we’ll soon know what’s at hand.

We are NOT going back. Forward with a new plan! I’m so anxious I can hardly stand it. Staying busy with a move has helped.
Keep believing! Have a lovely day.
Claudia says
Yes, the thing is to keep yourself occupied.
Stay safe, Belinda.
Darlene says
I believe you to be correct on your prediction. I can’t image after everything that has happened in the past 8 years that Trump will get back in.
Even I (who has made a vow to not follow along) is feeling anxious today!
Good Luck to everyone!
Claudia says
Good luck, Darlene!
Stay safe.

Claudia-
We MUST think positive! Pretty much everyone I know has voted. My husband and I will be standing out at the polls tomorrow making a public stand for Harris/Walz. Being in Massachusetts, it’s more of a symbolic gesture because we know she’ll get Massachusetts. But I HAVE to do SOMETHING tomorrow or I’ll go crazy.
The temperature went down in the 20’s last night and it’s only in the low 50’s today. But, thanks be to God, tomorrow is supposed to be in the low to mid 70’s! Perfect weather for standing outside. Not your typical New England November election day weather. I’m taking it as a good omen.
WE CAN DO THIS!!!
Stay safe & well,
Luanne
Claudia says
Oh, I’m feeling very positive, Luanne! It’s great that you’re going to stand for Kamala at the polls. Great work!
Stay safe!

We cannot go back. Tomorrow will be a very long day…deep breaths, calming music, apple pie will all be helpful. Nice to see your burning bush photo and that of Flat Lay Sunday. Your drive sounded like a lot of fun, and nice that it was so close to your cottage. Good thoughts for tomorrow!
Claudia says
Good, positive thoughts, Barrie!
Stay safe.
Cathy S. says
Everything that can be crossed is crossed for the outcome tomorrow! Thinking all positive thoughts.

Me, too!
Stay safe, Cathy.
Judy Hariton says
I have already voted and I’m hoping the women carry her right to the presidency. We can’t go back. I’m very anxious!
Claudia says
I think you’re not alone, Judy! Though I’m pretty calm – at the moment.
Stay safe.

Hope we are all happy with the outcome. I have faith in an educated and enlightened and fired up democratic electorate. We are not going back.
Nervous but hopeful.

Definitely hugs for everyone.
Hang in there, Maria!
Elaine in Toronto says
I think Kamala will win, too. Wish I could vote. We might not know for two or three days who won but I think we’ll have a good idea. Loved Ella with all her favourite pets. She’s not going back, either. Look at that expression. Nice to go for a drive especially in the fall. Stay calm. Hugs, Elaine
Claudia says
Thanks so much, Elaine.
Stay safe.
