The Scoutie Bunny

Happy Easter!

As you can see, our little Easter Bunny has already paid us a visit. Reluctantly. Every year we drag out these bunny ears and make Scout model them.

She doesn’t like it. Not by a long shot.

This morning I raised the roman blinds in the kitchen and looked out the window to see a fox staring at me. He was just as surprised as I was. He trotted away from me for a few steps and then turned back and stared at me. My mouth was still open from the gasp I made when I first saw him. Then he trotted around the far side of the dog corral and into the woods.

Wow.

I’ve seen several foxes lately. Twice on this property, once on the road where we walk Scout and once more when one ran across the road in front of me while I was driving. We’ve lived here almost nine years and I think I saw a one or two foxes in all that time. Until now. I wonder if he’s living on our property?

I also saw two bunny rabbits this week. (He’d better stay away from our bunnies.)

Oh, make that three. See below.

scoutbunnyears2

We’re having dinner at Noble and Tina’s this afternoon. It’s sunny and it’s getting warmer – hard to believe after our long winter – but it’s true.

Whatever you celebrate or don’t celebrate,

Happy Sunday.

Claudia, Love your Easter bunny/dog. :):) My sister had a fox come to back yard and she lives in town. They are beautiful animals. Hope your day stays nice. It is sunny here and I am loving it. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

My dog hates it when we put sunglasses on her, but for some reason we insist on doing it. LOL Have a wonderful meal today! I am cleaning the concession stand at the baseball field :(

My iPhone wallpaper is a picture of Scout wearing my glasses! I totally understand.

I hope that in the midst of cleaning the concession stand, you get a few Easter treats!

Your bunny-dog is very sweet to put up with the ears! I have a very mangy looking fox that shows up in my yard at times….it is the scruffiest looking fox I’ve ever seen, but I still like that it visits me.

I’m happy to hear it’s finally getting warmer where you live. After the winter you’ve just gone through you deserve it!

Bunnies are cute, but not so much so if you’re a gardener. We have lots of little bunnies where we live and I have just put in two raised garden boxes. I think I’ll be spending way more time working at keeping the bunnies out than I will be gardening! Although I wouldn’t mind the Scout variety of rabbit paying a visit. :-)

Well, I’m a gardener and they really haven’t got into too much trouble there. But I don’t do any vegetable gardening – too many deer, bunnies and groundhogs!

Scout is the cutest Easter bunny yet!
Our fox family hasn’t been around much lately and this Spring must have found a new place to drop the kits. Kinda glad they stayed away from the gazebo and potting shed – they’ve been having them under those two places too often and it makes venturing into the garden a bit disconcerting.

Easter blessings – we had a little partial family celebration yesterday so are enjoying a lazy day here alone, with one chocolate bar to share!!!! The sun has just popped out and the garden looks awesome – guess I’ll head out there with a camera soon!

    Love and hugs – Mary

Sweet, sweet Scout!! They truly DO give us unconditional love, don’t they? Well, Claudia, it is supposed to reach 70* here today! The weather person told us that it has been 191 days since we last had a reading of 70* or above. We may get a few drops of rain, but even if our Easter bonnets get wet….. 70*!!!!!! Yay! Happy Easter!

Your Scoutie Bunny is so sweet! :) The more we build, the less space there is for the wild creatures of the world. And they will go where the food is. Take care and have a beautiful day. Tammy

Your girl sure looks festive in her Easter finery. I used to have a pair of those ears and would put them on my yellow lab Molly. She was a good sport about it. How fun to see the fox. You could have one with pups this time of year.
Many thanks for your prayer for Rocky. He has actually rallied and is doing so much better. I’ll take as many good days for he as possible. Enjoy your Easter luncheon with friends!

I use to do the same thing to our Mattie when she was with us. She tolerated the whole thing but I have one picture where she looks really disgusted! I miss her so much~~~. Have some delicious basket treats today too. Maybe even a PEEP!!

    haha! Scout is so cute!

The White House is having the same issue with a red fox so you’re in good company. ;-) I hope he doesn’t get your bunnies either. My lawn has been bombarded with bunnies the past few summers but I’ve yet to see one this year. I’m hoping the bitter temperatures and lack of food didn’t cause their demise.

    Wishing you a beautiful week!

Years ago when David and I lived in Middleburg, Virginia we had a fox who was living on our property. He was very reclusive and never bothered us or or Yorkie Bitterman. Often when I would come home from a shopping trip he would be peeking out from behind the barn on the property. He was a beauty. We had one I used to see from time to time in our alley behind our home in Idaho. I am sure he was attracted by my neighbor’s chickens. They are such beautiful creatures, but rather shy.
I hope you all had a lovely Easter Sunday.

Am I the only person on the planet that is following your blog and others by newsletters via my email address and am no longer getting new posts? The only reason I still had this was because I don’t delete posts that I want to read either again or read the comments. I can’t figure out why I’m no longer getting updated postings. Any ideas? My husband thought it might have something to do with the Hearbleed virus that has been causing so many other problems. He’s very computer savy and says it has nothing to do with me or my computer etc.

It has nothing to do with Heartbleed and has everything to do with Feedburner, who delivers the email for the vast majority of blogs. This has been a problem for the last week for everyone and there’s really nothing I, or any other blogger, can do about it. I’m sure it will be sorted out eventually. May I suggest to you what I suggest to everyone else? Bookmark my blog on your browser. Since you know I post every day, you know there will be a post every day. A lot of people subscribe via email so that they know when a blogger has a new post up – but mine are up every day by 10 am. Like clockwork. Bookmark the site, click on it, and voila – you’ll see the new post.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
