We have a wind advisory tonight with wind chills hitting well below zero. Oh, goody. High winds (which make me tense) and very cold temps. This weekend will be a frigid one and then snow on Monday, but the amount forecast has decreased to 1 – 3 inches.
That’s your Hudson Valley Weather Report for today.
There’s lots for me to tackle around here, none of which I seem to be doing. Winter inertia has set in.
But in the meantime, let’s look at beautiful Mei, because that’s all I’ve got for you today.
She’s so pretty.
The Three Sisters.
As I said on IG: Chekhov Revisited.
Which one is Olga? (I played Olga in grad school.) And Masha? And Irina?
Irina is the youngest sister so that would be Olivia, on the left.
Masha is the passionate middle sister, so that might be Mei, on the right.
And that leaves Pippa to play Olga.
I love all my girls, but it’s clear I have a soft spot for VegaDolls. There’s something about those sweet little faces that gets to me.
Okay. Short but sweet, I hope.
Stay safe.
Happy Friday.

HAVE A good weekend.
Work your puzzles.
Hope you can read soon but can relate. Prayers dear girl.
Forgive me for venting but am so aggravated at these people who won’t mask isolate and vaccinate…there I said it .
Claudia says
I am too. Don had an encounter with someone who wasn’t wearing a mask yesterday. What the heck is wrong with these people??
Stay safe, Brenda.

A dash of sweetness! Happy Friday, Claudia and Don!
Claudia says
Thank you, April!
Stay safe.

Happy Friday to you two! I’m finally into a book that’s holding my attention—Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles—and I’m nearly through with it, so things are looking up.
Claudia says
I have that book in my TBR pile. Glad you’re enjoying it!
Stay safe.

Getting more and more hooked on your Blythe doll posts and guess I should pay more attention because I am sure I recall you posted something about changing their eye color and it looks to me that Mei’s eyes in the first snap are green and clearly look blue in the second. Or is my age catching up w/ me and something wrong w/ my eye sight? Been thinking about dragging out my Skipper and Stacey dolls, both in their cases w/ a limited amount of clothes. I always wanted the Barbie that had the three wigs and in the end, never got an actual Barbie doll. My sister had the Misty doll that came in her own phone booth. We played for hours dressing, redressing and swooning over the little order book that came with them showing accessories and more clothing options. I think playtime at any age is very healthy and as I said a few days ago, I am working on it. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, now which box in the basement are those doll cases and dolls in?
Claudia says
Yes, their eyes change color. There are two ring pulls that come out of the back of the head. When you pull the one on the right, the eyes close. Then you pull the one on the left and they open in a new position and eye color. There are four positions – two of them looking straight ahead and one to the left, and one to the right. Nothing wrong with your eye sight, Chris!
Stay safe.

I remember that you don’t like wind. I don’t either. Yours is cold; mine out here in SoCalif is hot and dry; we’ve got violent Santa Anas right now, whooshing down the chimney and trying to airlift the tarps over my vintage car and our outdoor sheds. I’m cranky about having to replace tarps too often this year; it gets expensive although we re-use them, whichever parts aren’t too ripped, to hold the soil on our hillside for when it DOES rain, if we ever get rain again now in 2022 like we did in Dec-2021. But one thing, if you can dodge flying debris (palm tree ‘bark’ and fronds are NOT good things to run over with the car on the road), the horizon is SO clear; no muck; no haze.
And Happy Weekend is here; a longer one for some with the holiday. Wishing you a nice one!
Claudia says
I’m having a very cold weekend, with taps dripping so the pipes don’t freeze. It’s like Chinese water torture!
Stay safe, Vicki.

cuties. :) love their wardrobes!
good luck with and prayers about the inertia and weather.
inertia here, too. :l
snowing here now. started a couple hours later than was originally forecast … but we’re to get up to a foot of it between now and noon tomorrow. i do not like that they keep raising the amount of snow we are to get!!! anyway, hope that delay is enough for everyone else and me to get home safe … i’m working until about 5:15 today unless the shop closes early (which is doubtful since we sell snowblowers, ice scrapers, etc). at least there’s a flat way to drive most of the way home on primary streets (though the corner from one of them by my place will likely be a mess), my driveway is also flat and i have a garage.
hope everyone is safe, comfy and has a great weekend ahead.

I hope you got home safely and you’re tucked into your apartment now.
Stay safe, Kathy.

I’m with you on wind — a precursor to power outages! I’m enjoying the Sondheim tribute from Signatures on youtube this morning, continuing my hermit existence and planning to do a little cleaning and a lot of reading today! Maybe I’ll even start my New Yorker puzzle. Just chill (no pun intended). You deserve it!
Claudia says
You do know that Chill is also my first initial and last name and that’s the way it was embroidered on my gym clothes?
Stay safe, Jeanie.
jeanie says
Now THAT would be a great nickname!
