Yesterday, we walked through our woods after mowing the lilac side of the front lawn. Even in the woods, the wild roses are blooming. It really is another world up there; quieter and peaceful. I tend to forget to walk in the woods, though Don does it all the time. He also plays his guitar up there.
We’re in for a mini heat wave and the question here at the cottage is: how long can we delay installing the A/C units? We got through yesterday and used the box fan in our bedroom window last night and it was comfortable. Will it work tonight? Or will we regret not having installed the A/C? It’s a bit of a pain to install them. Update: I just talked to Don – I think we’ll install them today. Then there’s the impending rain on Friday – Sunday, which means we’d better cut the grass, but there’s an air quality alert for today. Decisions, decisions. And ultimately, I can’t stress over it.
These are the little flowers that are blooming everywhere on the property. Wild roses, brambles – the name changes. Usually they’re a pain in the tush, but for this moment in time, they’re absolutely lovely.
Soon, I’m going to start the face up on the Little Keiko doll head. But now, I think I will have to hold off until next week because of the humidity and rain. The sealant has to be sprayed outside because it can be toxic (I wear protection) but humidity and rain are not friends of this process. So, next week. Darn it!
Nina, Derek, and the little nameless dog. She is so beautiful. She was the girl I picked to bond with yesterday. That’s what I’ve been doing this week. I choose a girl to hang out with and my doll mojo, which has been missing lately, begins to come back. Sophie was first up, then Zoe, then Nina. I haven’t picked today’s girl yet. More coffee is needed first.
I know I should change Nina’s outfit as she’s been wearing it for quite a long time, but I love her in it. So it’s staying a bit longer.
Time for more coffee.
Stay safe.
Happy Wednesday.
glad you have the air conditioners to use, and that you and don will install them before the heat sets in (to me it’s like seasickness or a headache … can’t quickly get past sickly heat or humidity. at least i can’t.) hope the installations go quickly and safely.
also glad you have something fun to look forward to with the dolls and the dollhouses. may your weather cooperate nicely.
need to feed earl and the birds, go for a walk, then more sorting, packing …
hope you, don and everyone else have a wonderful day. stay safe, too, of course.
kathy
Thank you, Kathy.
stay safe.
Yeah, if you’re goin gto put t in, do it soon and get it over with. The weather is so erratic these days you never know.
Nina is a dear!
We’re exhausted, but they’re in.
Thanks, Jeanie.
Stay safe.
I would think your woods would be a welcome respite from the impending humidity. It’s so pretty and serene. We’ve had air quality issues to deal with most of this week…and it looks to continue. My husband is thinking of wearing an N-95 mask as he mows today.
Good call on the air conditioner. I’m sure it will help you sleep more comfortably. We evidently came home with colds…so we are battling those. And are kicking ourselves now that we didn’t wear masks when we flew. Lesson learned.
Enjoy your day! ;)
You’re getting smoke from the fires in Canada, aren’t you? We’re getting a bit of that, as well.
Yes. A mask on a plane is a must! Hope your colds get better soon!
Stay safe, Donnamae.
Hi everyone, Claudia:
It’s kind of hard to be positive. I’m missing out on my life. This being sick sucks. Our hospital has a really bad reputation so I don’t want to go there. And sometimes I just don’t care.
A buck may have tore apart our dogwood shrub in the front, with it’s itchy antlers. I talked with my brother who knows nature as good as our dad. That makes sense. The deer probably got down to the river or the hill on the other side of us, to lose it’s ‘horns’.
Canada sucks but there are some good things about it still. Gotta look at the positives.
I can’t see anything really good today. Just another day in paradise as Phil Collins sang.
I would like to shop for a Blythe doll outfit sometime. There is so many nice things.
I think Canada is pretty wonderful. So do a lot of Americans.
Feel better, Irene.
Stay safe.
Claudia, your woods are beautiful. I’d want a chaise lounge and a good book right there. Looks so inviting. Those doll shoes still amaze me! Nina does look cute in that outfit. Enjoy your coffee…
I want shoes just like them!
Stay safe, Barrie.
Time to give that cute little dog a name, Claudia. He is so cute! Nina looks pretty cute, too. A walk in your woods sounds lovely. Can’t wait to see your little Keiko doll face. Don’t overdo the mowing. Hugs, Elaine
I’ll have to wait until I’m less tired, and then I’ll think of a name, Elaine.
Wait a minute…”Twinkle” just came to me.
Stay safe.
