Treats from Rosemary, Squares 27 & 28

March 28, 2010 at 9:01 am by Claudia

I won a giveback recently from Rosemary of Ozma of Odds. Rosemary has a beautiful blog and she creates wonderful things – please visit her to see for yourself.

This is Mr. Bunn (Rosemary named him.) Isn’t he delightful? He has the sweetest face. I’ve developed a big old crush on him. As you can see, Mr. Bunn is currently living in the bottom basket of my wrought iron thingy thereby solving my dilemma of what to put there. I love him so much that he will be living in my studio all year long.

Rosemary also included some other goodies.

Rosemary’s bakery tags – these are so beautiful that I’ve considered framing them!

Paper lace ribbon strips, tulle whimsy ruffles in beautiful colors (and very hard to photograph.)

Beautiful pink roses. Thank you so much for this gorgeous present, Rosemary! How nice it was to receive all these treasures in the midst of our time of loss.

I stitched a bit last night while watching one of my favorite movie musicals, Gigi, on Turner Classic Movies.

(I tried at least 10 times to get a good photo. I give up. Officially.) Anyway, I started stitching “Garden” in the square and added some flowers. Then I realized I was a square behind for today’s post. I could not think of one new idea. So, I added a green vine and more flowers and connected it all together. A bit of a cheat, but the well was dry.

Embroidery muse: please come and visit once again. Today, if at all possible.

    Hi Claudia!
Your WIT (wrought iron thingy) is filled with the most wonderful Mr. Bunn! And ohMYgoodness, Rosemary sent you some of the sweetest little lovelies!!!
About squares 27& 28. Have a heart. Slow down and let me catch up. I’m on #18 and have to come up with at least 2 squares a day if I am ever to going to finish in time. Please send the Embroidery Muse my way. Clearly she’s already been over to your house – I love your “Garden” and vines. Oh, and I hope you don’t think I’m copying you, but I plan to write “Garden” down 6 squares on the left side of my project (that’s why I’ve kept them blank). :)
    Hugs,
    Zuzu

Those are the loveliest tags I’ve ever seen also, honey! I think I’ll try to make some tags with roses.

Sorry to hear you both are grieving so much at this time, but you have people who love you and are willing to listen to your sadness.

Your photographs are lovely as always so STOP saying that it was hard to capture the ones in cellophane, chickee! ;-)

Give Don a hug and smooch from this ol’ lady.

    xoxo,
    Connie

I love that bunny! Wish he’d send some friends to come visit me. We’ve had bunnies living here before. But Mr. Clyde seems to clear them out.

    Oh Claudia Sweetie…
I love Mr. Bunn. He is just the cutest thing ever. Look at his little face, and the rose tags are so exquisite. I love them, and look at your trims you received too. What a parcel of love.

Your stitching is coming along beautifully. My gosh, I adore the garden connected. How original is that? You sure have outdone yourself on this patch of love. Have you stitched any hearts yet? Love is what makes the garden grow you know. How about a watering can or some sprinkles of water coming down. Garden can’t grow with water. Have you stitched a Sunshine yet?

    I love your project.

Again I am sending my thoughts and prayers to you and Don, at this time of loss. It is a very hard road to walk. God Bless you both.

Country hugs and much love, Sherry

Mr. Bunn is adorable! Perhaps he will think of a great stitching idea – or perhaps you could stitch him munching on something in another square.

Claudia, what a beautiful gift to have received, especially when some good cheer is needed during stress!
love everything, the tags, and the paper lace I think are my favourites!

and I don’t think your squares were a ‘cheat’ at all…it’s a melding of two…consider it the ‘weekend’ square!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
