Tree: Decorated

December 6, 2022 at 9:24 am by Claudia

Flu shots: check.

A slightly sore arm last night, no soreness this morning. No side effects.

Decorating the tree: check.

Here it is:

I’ll take some more photos later.

Monty looks pleased.

Meanwhile, some girls were a little put out. They were basically ignored all day long and were not included in the decorating the tree. Oh boy. I must apologize.

Today, we’re going to take it easy. I have a little more decorating to do. The little white tree is in the den (that’s the one I bought when I had to be out of town in Hartford during the holidays.) The little aqua tree is on the table by Don’s mini studio. I’ve begun to set up the little putz house village. And I have to glue more ornaments on the mini Christmas tree in Dove Cottage.

I love our tree this year. Of course, I love every Christmas tree that is brought into this house. And as I sit here in the den, I see the lights and ornaments on the rear of the tree. So both Don and I get to enjoy it – one of us in the living room, the other in the den.

Stay safe.

Happy Tuesday.

Your tree looks lovely, Claudia. I have quite a few Shiny brights also but have to keep them displayed in my china cabinet so the grandkids don’t break them! They still sparkle under the lights in there! :)

Your tree is absolutely beautiful, Claudia! And I can’t wait to see the others — large and (very) small! I think all the girls need to get them in the mood is dressing them in their Christmas sweaters! Enjoy!

I have 7 sweaters (or will have once one more arrives in the mail) and 12 girls. I wish I had one for each of them because that would make a great photo!

      Stay safe, Jeanie.

glad you have your flu shots. hopefully don’s reaction was like yours … mild.

the tree looks beautiful! know you will enjoy it. :)

glad you have a quieter day ahead to enjoy as well.

i love that pretty light blue painted table in your den (also the mix of patterns on the chair and rug next to it)! ever since i first saw it long ago in a photo on your blog, i have wanted one (or maybe two, as nightstands). in pre-covid times, i would look often for such a table. no luck … yet!

hope everyone has a good day. stay safe!

We didn’t have any reaction other than a sore arm, which is standard for a vaccination.

I hope you find a table like it, Kathy. I got it at an auction right after we moved here. I think it was $25.

      Stay safe!

Gorgeous tree, Claudia. Enjoy it. Loved seeing all your girls together. Where are Lily and Wren? Perhaps they are out Christmas shopping? I’m off to write cards and get your sweaters ready to mail. Enjoy a peaceful day. Hugs, Elaine

Lily and Wren are sitting on the porch of the dollhouse as there is no room for them over with the Blythes. If I decide to put a shelf above the girls and space them out a bit more, Lily and Wren will be able to move in.

      Stay safe, Elaine!

Oh, my goodness, did I realize you have a dozen of the girls? Assembled as a group, they’re all so darling. My instant thought was that you were headmistress and these are your charges at boarding school. I think I’m influenced by a recent TV recording I’d made of the Hayley Mills movie (was it on TCM?) of “The Trouble With Angels” (I think it was among the last of her ‘childhood’ roles as she was already age 20 by the time she made this popular movie [when I was still a preteen]).

And your Christmas tree is so, so pretty; terrific job decorating. Artistic, bright; beautiful.

I have nothing done. The living room is too somber. Lights are definitely in order for tomorrow, or maybe I’ll even find my fake tree somewhere (it’s prelit) so that we can get some color going on around here. We have some battery lights twinkling/flashing around the front door as a sort of emergency decorating job (overall inadequate) so that our curb appeal isn’t so desolate and uncheery for the neighborhood. I don’t know how we got so behind. There are already 25 houses on our suburban block which are fully decorated on their exteriors. (I’m glad people are in a holiday mood!)

Get going with your decorating, Vicki! It will cheer you up, I guarantee it. I suffer from SAD and having these lights in the house and all the sparkly ornaments lifts my mood.

I like the idea of being “Headmistress Claudia!”

      Stay safe.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
