Two-Two-Two-Two

February 22, 2022 at 9:35 am by Claudia

Finished.

I started a new one, but didn’t get very far! The border is all in the same pattern and it’s hard to figure out what piece goes where. It’s a handful.

This morning, I heard several different birds singing in the vicinity of the porch. It’s so heartening to hear birdsong at this point in the winter. I heard the Carolina Wren singing before I opened the blinds and I couldn’t find it anywhere on the porch. Later, I heard it again and I peeked through the blinds that face the big maple tree and there were two Carolina Wrens going in the the trailer/nest! Whoo hoo! They’re definitely checking out available real estate. I ran to tell Don and then I looked out at the trailer from the living room, but they’d disappeared.

I wonder if they’re completely different birds than the couple who inhabited the nest last year? Or are they the same mom and pop?

Even though it’s winter, they clearly know something is about to change.

That being said, we’re due for 5 – 8 inches of snow on Friday and I can’t tell you how depressed that makes me. My only comfort is that it will melt during the following week. But it will take a while and right now we have no snow on the ground. Dang it!

Don has started a YouTube channel where he does what he calls his ‘Car Concerts.’ So far he’s posted five songs and I think he’ll post another five today. He used to post them on Facebook, but he likes this idea better. If you’re interested in hearing my talented husband sing some of his songs, you can find him here. (He likes the acoustics of the car.)

Stay safe.

Happy Tuesday.

    Hi,
I just listened to “Trouble and Joy.” Great song. I loved the line ” a karmic packaged deal.” Plus, I like Don’ s hair.
I truly hope you receive less snow then what is predicted.
    Take Care,
    Kaye

Today is the day Don shines!
I just listened, and subscribed. I always think I would love to be sitting somewhere enjoying a night out and listening to this wonderfully talented man.
The song ‘I’ll Know You’ brought tears to my eyes. Your meeting, your life together, just wow.
The Roy Rodgers shirt was icing on the cake. His songs magically remind me of life events, and feed my imagination through his lyrics. A wonderful journey.
Together you are quite a powerhouse couple. The universe was certainly in alignment when you finally met.
Bravo Claudia and Don. You deserve one another.

No bird song here…we have freezing rain and thunder with sleet. Snow predicted for later this week. Guess winter isn’t quite done with us yet.

Off now to listen to Don’s songs…I’m sure they’ll cheer me up. ;)

I’m glad to hear that your trailer renters may be back. I thought they were so paintable last year, but then life intervened…and a real trailer appeared in my yard! Now, whenever I can find time, I’m up to my ears in sewing trailer curtains.

Thanks so much for all of the prayers and good wishes yesterday. Your “people” are still just the best. (And, congrats on the puzzle completion!)

I have a photo of one of them that I wanted to paint last year. Maybe I’ll try to capture it this year.

      We love you, Shanna.

He has such a nice voice and plays the guitar so beautifully. I can’t imagine what that must be, to be in a home where that’s going on in the background so pleasantly! Thanks for the link.

What beautiful music!! Tell Don “thank you”! I love when my hubs sits down at the piano and plays. Having no musical talent, it amazes me.

We had a nasty ice event overnight and the temps are near zero again so nothing melted. Crazy weather. I hope the snow heading your way takes a change in course, too. The puzzle is really lovely. Good luck on the new one. Hope you had a good day. Take care.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
