Hey everyone. If you haven’t figured it out by now I’m feeling very under the weather with a bad cold. It’s knocked me out and writing a blog post has not been a priority, especially when my brain feels like mush.
When this happens, check Instagram. It’s far easier for me to write two sentences on IG in order to alert everyone that I’m not posting than it is for me to sign into the blog and do all the things I have to do once I’m there before I can even write a post.
If you don’t have IG, you can look on the right side of my blog – at the bottom is a widget that shows my latest IG posts. Click on it and you’ll get an update.
Thank you so much for your concern, my friends.
We’re also dealing with a lot of snow (more coming today) and I can’t help Don shovel. And dangerous wind chills.
Anyway, I’m slowly – very slowly – feeling a bit better.
Happy Wednesday.

I hope you feel better soon Claudia. Sip some hot tea and curl up with a book.

Rest and more rest is the best cure for a bad cold. I am finally feeling better but spent most of yesterday in the ER with my Mom. She was having difficulty breathing and it scared me. She checked out OK and this is just part of her aging process and her heart issues they told us. Nothing much to be done. I feel better that I took her since at 88 it is better to be safe than sorry. Today it’s cold but sunny so I have some errands to run. Hugs to you and Don.

So sorry to hear this. Feel better soon! We have an actual temp of – 4 now, so dangerous in so many places.

Hang in there, Claudia. Hope you aren’t part of the Polar Vortex too — Keep Mr. Shovel Guy warm! (And in turn, he will make you tea and give you comfort.)
At least I hope so. Bad colds are the worst.

Oh, kiddo, I hope you don’t get what we are getting here. Wind chill was -53* this morning. It is beyond brutal. One more day for us. School has already been called for tomorrow.
Take it easy and quite seriously, don’t overdo it because the end result can be pretty awful. Just isn’t worth it. We will all be here. I’m so happy I thought to check IG yesterday!!! Take care of yourself, dear friend. ♡

Sorry to hear you are down…hope you feel better soon. It is a bit chilly here to say the least. The mayor shut down the city for today. My son went out to toss boiling water into the air…that was our highlight!
I really do hope this stuff doesn’t go east…you have enough to deal with. Tell Don to take it easy…you, stay warm! ;)

Hello Claudia,
Sorry to read that you’re not feeling too good. We’ve had heavy snow here but nothing like as extreme as the States.
I feel for Don and all that snow shovelling! Is it to dig out your car? This reminds me as I mentioned earlier it does snow in Northern England and only usually forms deep snow drifts in the country side but my late parents used to berate me for not clearing my drive way. I used to argue I can open the front door and walk across the snow to the pavement (like most British front gardens, a distance of less than ten yards!)
You asked to let you know what I thought of ‘Mary, Queen of Scots’. To be fair it was more historically accurate than I was expecting (apart from them meeting once secretly), well acted by the main actresses but came across as a drama maybe produced by the BBC for television rather than a big screen event.
Hope you’re better soon

Nurse Janet’s Rx: Hot lemonade with vitamin C. Tomato soup – especially if you’re having throat issues – with grilled cheese dippers. Lots of water with lemon to flush out the germies. Cozy deep blankies. Feet up. Sleep. And feel better immediately!

I hope you feel well soon, Claudia. We have miserably cold weather here, too. Stay inside and warm and drink hot tea and wrap up in a blanket and read a good book–that’s my advice! LOL xo Diana

Hope you feel better. Relax and enjoy a good book. I just came in from taking the snow away from the front stoop and sidewalk. Luckily we only received a little snow so far. The wind is vicious and the freezing temperatures are awful.

i hope you feel better soon, claudia!
i am sure you are taking good care of yourself and that “doctor don” is a great help to you! glad you have each other.
it was -20 degrees here today (-46 degrees with windchill) … brutal! and it’s supposed to reach 50 degrees here this weekend. crazy … and, i hope, on it’s way to you two. stay safe, everyone!
in lieu of you posting more, keep resting and how about i tell you a story? on saturday, you posted about your sweet maileg MOUSE (who hopefully by now has a name). on monday, i overheard a little bit of a conversation as a woman walked past my office and said to a child “you eat more cheese than any little MOUSE i know”. then, when i got into my office, i took my coat off, turned to put it in the closet and what did i see? a MOUSE! i let out a very loud yelp … maybe more of a scream … as i sat on my desk … and i yelped again when it tried to run out of the closet. i am glad i didn’t cuss … there were people nearby. thankfully, one of them got a maintenance man. he thinks he has the mouse trapped in the closet, but i doubt it (think i’d have heard it or seen it again by now). UGH! i really don’t like my job anymore and dislike it all the more now that the bubble has been burst … no more not-thinking-about-the-MOUSE there (behind a closet door less than four feet from my desk) anymore. i sincerely wish no harm to the mouse and the trap in the closet saddens me, but at the same time, i am freaked out to have a wild, erratic-to-me thing (little as it is) indoors. especially after someone told me that once a mouse ran up her pantleg. i did not need to know that!
anyway … sooner or later, the mouse will for sure leave or be caught and i will get over it, but in the meantime this freaks me out. and it makes me pause and think about things. like how i’ve gone probably years without seeing, hearing about or thinking about a mouse and then boom … three times in less than 48 hours? makes me think about life, how the world is and if God had a message for me …
hope you take it easy, the weather cooperates and you know we’ll be here waiting for you when you feel better.

to clarify … what i hope is on its way to you is the 50 degree weather, not the freezing cold stuff!
and, by the way, i will be throwing away the two pairs of shoes currently in the mouse hotel (closet) at work.
