What is it about these vintage kitchen towels that attracts me? One word: cheery. I love everything about these cheery retro prints and have been collecting them for a long time. Whenever I see one that is in good condition, I grab it. Come to think of it, I think I began to collect these when I was living in Boston. In those days, I collected Fiesta pottery. The bright, vivid colors seemed to go perfectly with my Fiesta.
I eventually sold that Fiesta collection, but the love of these vintage prints remained. How can you not smile when you look at these?
I have quite a few and I use them in different ways. They can appear as a dresser scarf, like this one in my bedroom:
Or they can be turned into a valance, like this one in my studio:
Of course, they can also be cut up and used as napkins or pillow covers or any number of things.
Just a peek at another one of my collections. Do you have any of these vintage linens?
I don”t have any of these linens and I wish I did. I remember vividly all the linens my mom had back when I was a child in the fifties (oops, did I say fifties….I…um meant, 70’s, yea, that’s right 70’s)
Adore your collection of linens.
Now, what’s next you can show us???
I do! I’ve been trying to get rid of some of my stash but sometimes when I come to the vintage linens they just don’t want to get off the shelf! So I’m keeping them around for a while, sweetpea. Maybe granddaughter will want them someday.
xoxo,
Connie
Isn’t it a wonderful feeling when you love something, appreciated it all along and it turns in to a collectible? Your vibrant vintage linens are in excellent condition. Cheery ~ great thought for the day, Claudia.
What a perfect treat for a gloomy day (it is POURING here in Douglas)!
Thanks for the cheery post!
Hello, how can you not smile when you look at those vintage linens, so cheery is right. I do own a few, but my Sis does the real collecting of them, she loves vintage aprons, tablecloths, anything along that line. Thanks for sharing your collections, always a joy to see what people love. Blessings Francine.
Claudia,
I LOVE your vintage linens. I am attracted to dishtowels and tablecloths from this era and have a rather large collection. They speak “happy” to me too.

Claudia, your vintage tea linens are gorgeous! Love those! I found some rose ones a couple of years ago and gave them to one of my sisters who LOVES all things red and that retro-vintage look.
Thank you so much for your help with my mess of a crochet project. I took your advice and started over and tried to loosen up the tension. So far it’s looking better!! :-)
I have 2 Vera napkins that are in pristine condition. I have them framed.
My daughter just started collecting Fiestaware in anticipation of getting her own apartment. Love the colors!
You’re surely a girl after my own heart. They do make ‘ya smile… and I’m crazy in love with them… I have the exact one you show in the top photo on the right.
Have a great weekend!

They are lovely. Especially used as a valance. The colors certainly match your McCoy collection, too. Best wishes for a wonderful weekend. Tammy
They are lovely..They don’t make them like they used to!!
Claudia – I think we were sisters separated at birth – vintage linens, McCoy pottery, etc, etc J
Something about the colors are so appealing. I too love these old dish towels. You have some lovely one’s!
My Mom gave me a lovely vintage tablecloth with orange flowers on it, I really love it.
It has the same styling, and look that yours does.
What a great collection.
