Well, crap. I thought the snow that fell the other day was it for the winter, but, silly me, we have another storm coming tomorrow with anywhere from 2- 5 inches and lots of wind.
I’m completely and utterly over it, especially since Don can’t shovel at the moment. Also: the snow from the other day will have melted completely at the end of today, just in time for more. It’s going to hit the mid-fifties today and then drop to the thirties tomorrow.
The latest, and most likely, last puzzle of the winter season: The World of James Joyce. What an incredible illustration on this one!
Olivia had a change of clothing yesterday. I’d been thinking that this outfit from Qiulizio would be perfect with that hair color. Gosh, this girl is adorable!
It was also time for another girl to wear the glasses:
Little Pippa, whose eyes now seem larger, even though I know there are no lenses in these glasses.
Our local weather guys say that this storm is still highly unpredictable and it could end up being a ‘bust.’ I guess it all has to do with tracking and when rain turns into snow. I’ll take bust, please.
We finished watching the third season of Stranger Things on Netflix. Excellent! Now, we have to wait until the new season drops in May.
That’s it for now, my friends.
Stay safe.
Happy Friday.
Marilyn Schmuker says
Pippa is so cute in the glasses!
I hope Don’s shoulder is improving. He definitely shouldn’t shovel snow.
I keep reminding myself that it’s March and winter isn’t done yet. I just want the snow on the ground to go away. I just want to go outside without boots and be able to see grass again.
Take care
Claudia says
Me too. But I guess that isn’t going to happen for a while!
Stay safe, Marilyn.
Linda / Ky says
dear Claudia/Don — hope Don is healing AND pls don’t go crazy and hurt yourself shoveling!! A mother’s advice, haha!! we, too, are expecting 3 – 6 inches overnite — it is 54 degrees right now w/full sun — so over winter, hoping forecast is way offbase and wrong, we will see, I guess. love your girls no matter what they are wearing!!! stay safe/healthy p.s. liked the snow pix from yesterday.
Claudia says
Since my back is bothering me, I probably won’t attempt any shoveling, Linda.
Thanks so much.
Stay safe.
Leslie says
Here’s some good news: the first episode of the new season of Gardeners’ World is tonight on BBC!
Claudia says
Yes, I saw that this morning! I follow Monty Don on Instagram. Hurrah!
Stay safe, Leslie!
Linda says
I borrowed Monty Don’s newest book from the library and love it
I may just treat myself
Claudia says
He is so wonderful, isn’t he?
xo

I’m with you on the weather. So over it. Woke up to several inches this morning. And of course with daytime melt and night time cold, it ices up.
Love the puzzle. I am reading a book about Sylvia Beach (which I really don’t like — it’s one of those “historical fiction bios” which seems to me like a great contradiction in terms) but much of it covers Joyce and her work in publishing Ulysses. I suspect that part is well researched (it’s the made-up conversations that drive me nuts in this kind of book!). What a labor of love.
Claudia says
Snowing now. I’m so, so over this!
I am not a fan of historical fiction for the obvious reasons! But Sylvia Beach is a fascinating woman.
Stay safe, Jeanie.
Amy says
Right there with you, Claudia – so over winter and abrupt changes/swings in weather. We’re expecting rain/snow tomorrow also, with plunging temperatures. My plan is to simply stay inside and continue to remind myself that Spring is so much closer than it was. I am so itching to work outside.
Hope Don’s shoulder and your back are better very, very soon.
Have a safe, peaceful and calm weekend!
Claudia says
Spring is close. Next week it will be much warmer and we’ll remember it’s around the corner.
Stay safe, Amy.
Brendab says
You amaze me more than anyone with puzzles

I wait on things lol
Hope you have a good weekend
Claudia says
The ‘air’ was broken? I’m not sure what you mean, Brenda.
Stay safe!
Roxie says
Yes! Spring, please. I want to be warm and play in my garden.
Meanwhile, have fun with your girlies. Love those glasses! Accessories rule!
Claudia says
I cannot wait to be outside again!
Stay safe, Roxie.
Jill says
That puzzle is an absolute beauty !
Jillxo
Claudia says
Thank you, Jill. It really is.
Stay safe.
Jenny says
It is my goal in life to dress like your dolls. :) So adorable!!!
Claudia says
Mine, as well.
Stay safe, Jenny.
Donnamae says
Sorry to hear about the snow…hopefully they’re wrong. I am so over winter as well. Supposed to get down to 2 degrees tonight. It was mighty windy here again…but, at least the sun was shining.
Is Don’s shoulder improving I hope? It’s gotta be tough, between his shoulder and your back. Take care! ;)
Claudia says
Oh, they’re not wrong. It’s falling as I write this.
Very slow going on Don’s shoulder, Donnamae.
Stay safe.
Deb in Phoenix says
Olivia looks great in that outfit. I can’t believe you do all those puzzles! My husband is the puzzle person in this house. I don’t have the patience to do that. I have been trying to do some spring cleaning too. Emptying my in-laws storage unit and putting it all in our garage makes me feel like I am getting nothing done. I can’t complain about our weather since my yard is filled with flowers right now. I will be complaining in July though! I still think it would be fun to see a virtual tour of your house. Maybe in the summer so we could see outside and inside. People have asked me to do a tour of my garden but I always see the bad things I should fix first. Don’t be negative, right?
I am still upset about this Ukraine business. This man is affecting the whole world! Has your heating oil gone up in price? California gas is crazy! My daughter is in San Diego right now and said we wouldn’t believe the prices. She did get to walk on the beach though, so I am jealous!
Take care!
Claudia says
Yes. We had to order more heating oil and it was much more expensive than usual.
Stay safe, Deb.
Leora Bowden says
Your “girls” are better dressed than I am. They are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing. I enjoy seeing where you place them around the house.
Claudia says
They’re far better dressed than I. I usually have on jeans and a t-shirt or sweatshirt!
Stay safe, Leora.
