It’s a winter wonderland out there this morning. We had a wet snow, so it’s sticking to all the plants and branches and, though it will melt as the day progresses, it’s glorious at this moment.
During the snowfall yesterday. I’ve had that cottage sign for a while and I usually stick it in one of the garden beds, but Don put it here and I like it.
The two soldiers that Don bought last year are now on top of the overturned wheelbarrow. We keep that old wheelbarrow in place because there is an extraordinary ant colony there, complete with houses and tall buildings. We don’t want to see it destroyed, so the wheelbarrow stays. And now the soldiers are guarding it, too. (And I was able to divert Don from his desire to put them on the porch, which would have been a distraction from our simple and striking outdoor lights.)
This morning:
A lovely gift for everyone who lives in this area.
I’ll leave it at that. The photos tell the story.
Stay safe.
Happy Monday.

those beautiful photos are a lovely gift for everyone who doesn’t live in your area, too. thank you.
our forecast shows a 100% chance of precipitation tomorrow. whether it will be rain, snow and/or ice is not known yet … could go each way because the temperature is to be very close to 32 … hoping for 100% snow or a noticeable raise in the temperature. all to be expected, of course, this time of year.
happy monday to everyone.
stay safe!

It’s very cold here today, so the snow will be around for at least a few days.

Love the “hush” that always accompanies a snowfall.
Beautiful snow photos.
Glad to see your road appears clear, although I suppose it may be icy in shaded/shadowed stretches.
Stay safe, warm & well.
Claudia says
No iciness yesterday but there may be today.
Thanks so much, Amy.

Your painted red shed nestled in the white snow is picture perfect. Wouldn’t it be lovely to get a jigsaw puzzle made of it? Hugs, Elaine

Oh, Claudia; I enjoyed these photos! You’ve taken some remarkably-beautiful ones for your scrapbook of winter bliss. It’s your Christmas postcard.
My little news can’t compare, but Southern Calif has been blessed with some rain (every little drop here is cherished). We drove around one of our small local lakes today and could REALLY see the diff in the water line; so improved! And the dry creek and dry river have been somewhat replenished (a long way to go yet) with continual flow of good and beneficial rainwater. Then, to awake this morning and briefly see (when clouds parted) SNOW on our local mountain range; well, my cup runneth over. Drought be gone!
Claudia says
So happy to hear you got some rain, Vicki! And snow high up in the mountains. Hurrah!
Stay safe.

If snow looked like this in my yard, I wouldn’t mind it so much! It’s enchanting. The red shed is perfect — it’s like a Christmas card. Cards!
